So I bought a ThinkPad T450s during the thanksgiving week deals... and I am so fucking disapointed:
First, the construction is between bad and ok. This is not a robust at all, cheap finishing and it feels cheap overall, cracky and flex everywhere.
Then, the trackpad is just terrible, the new keyboard texture is disgusting and its layout just stupid, and the pointing stick painful (wtf lenovo??).
The HDD is super noisy (it literally sounds like a computer from the 90's), and the cooler isn't better either...
Oh and finally: the battery life SUCKS.
Seriously /g/, why are you so obsessed with this brand, I mean, they used to make good laptops 10 years ago, but now? this is not better than an ASUS (for instance), and in fact this feels much cheaper than some HP's and Dell's.
I hate to say this but at least now I know there is nothing like a MBP.

The screen from the center induces none, but from the side is very slight. For an idea of how slight it is when looking at the screen the reflection distorts very slightly. (Not the touch model)

I've got an x230. The only reason I bougt a Thinkpad is for the reasonably good Linux compatibility, and the keyboard. Otherwise I would've gone with something cheaper.

When I first got my W520, it was having issues playing anything above 480p. The problem seems to have been bad RAM, because when I took out the defective module it was able to play anything and everything up to and including 1080p. I don't even fucking get it.

IBM / Lenovo didn't succeed in the workplace because they made good laptops. They succeeded because they offered discounts, returns and support that was superior to the opposition for significantly less money. Something which Dell took over and crushed IBM with which ended with IBM having to sell off various divisions.

Thinkpads were shilled to me years before I even heard of /g/ and I also owned a couple before visiting /g/ for the first time. I also owned a Thinkpad before knowing anything about Apple quality, I had to learn that one later, the hard way. Never again.
I did enjoy seeing that /g/ really likes Thinkpads, it gave me a feeling that people know their computers here.
It doesn't interest me if others are or are not buying Thinkpads, as long as I still can. Unless the new models are so terrible that I have to search for a better brand. My current one is T410.
