Ram has almost absolutely nothing to do with monitors or video at all. Almost because Windows can use it as a backup if your VRAM runs out.
My laptop kept doing that and it turned out to be the wrong driver for my network card. My card came as a faggotty gaming card when it was really just a renamed normal card. This may help. Or I could have just made it all up.
