It seems it doesn't matter what DNS resolver I use, I always get slow lookups.(800ms+) I want to see if I'm the only one.
Bump?
guess people are too lazy to run it

Why would anyone download this? If it was an online one sure, but you really think a bunch of people are going to download something from a 4chan link?
Even if it is safe, most people just won't care enough.

I think it did have an online version, but it requires java to be enabled.(i was too lazy to enable it, so I used the cli version).
ah well

If there was an online one sure, that'd be easy. I couldn't find one anywhere on the website.
This might help you out too maybe, it's a new/updated version of Namebench. A google tool for checking issues with DNS.

So I forgot Chrome doesn't support NPAPI plugins anymore, so that's why there was no link. I tested it out in Firefox and got clean results, no issues.

thanks, trying now.
I'm using DNScrypt + OpenNIC, so hopefully thats not what is impacting it.

Damn.
Maybe I need to give my ISP a call then. something is clearly wrong.
Is that Wifi or Ethernet?

Wired, and on a fairly fast connection.

IPv6 things are due to me not caring enough to fool with pfsense
clock could be wangblows being slow

>Wired
Maybe that's a factor. I'm forced to use wifi, but my dns shouldnt be this slow. One of the tests said 1900ms once. (namebench isnt done yet) my actual speeds aren't bad though. I can download at 4600kb/s from torrents and such
>>51749476
are you use your default dns?

I'm using google's dns, but I think I have it set to use comcast's dns first
I don't know if I set it up to cache dns or not though

Looks like I was right.
The problem was indeed because of Dnscrypt. I was using it to prevent dns leaks.
>>51749147
I don't want to install Java.
>If you don't see a big "Start Analysis" link,
please see the FAQ for details on how to enable Java.
