I am in need of computer speakers.
What kind of ghetto blasters does /g/ bump
Preferably under $100, looking for good quality, loud with decent bass.
My aim is to be able to induce PTSD when I'm playing Rising Storm/Red Orchestra or make my room sound like a club when I'm blasting my 90's german techno

1. Go to a thrift store, secondhand store, something like that.
2. Pick out the least shitty looking bookshelf speakers they have
3. Buy a Lepai LP-2020A+ amp to power them
And in three steps, you have a better speaker setup than any "computer" speakers that sell for less than $250.

good post

Logitech Z623's
a little while back every time I said that specific speaker hornloaded would come in and start sperging.
I still have my set, still working fine
Eagle Arion 70 watt 2:1 system. Does everything I need it to do and the sub will shake the floor if you are watching a movie or playing vidya.
Then again I'm not an autistic audiophile so the $55 I spent on them seems like a good investment to me.

>Lepai
lepai: what kind of distortion do you want?
me: >1.%
lepai: say no more

You have a better option for a cheap mofo?
memes aside i love mb42x and old ass sansui reciever
>>51746671
>go to goodwill or salvation army
>look for an amplifier (good brands:yamaha, kenwood, pioneer, sansui, marantz, if you are lucky you might find a Peavey power amplifier like a cs400 or cs800)
>avoid brands like Sony
Not op but how much should I be willing to spend on a good sound system. Nothing to gloat about but something good for music and movies.

>Logitech Z623

Old cerwin vegas are impossible to beat for a couple hundred dollars
Their old speakers like the at-12, d5, d7,dx7, dx9, d8 and at-15 can be had for under $500 but are not really worth that much.
Try to look on Craigslist or your local classifieds or go to your local goodwills to try to find some because sellers on eBay like to overprice them and on have local pickup only
>>51746851
There are two cs-800's in the classifieds right now. Older one for 250 and a newer version for 140. Too bad I don't need them because I use a USB wireless headset.
>>51747556
>USB
>wireless
>headset
So you fucked up not just once, not twice, but three times?
>>51747556
Thats not bad for the newer version as long as its in good working condition.
>>51747585
If I don't use wireless I get coil whine when I play games with high framerates. Don't really want to buy an external sound card just so I can circumvent that.
>>51746538
Absolutely disgusting
>>51747674
I don't think you actually know what coil whine is.
>>51747788
Explain my issue then.
>>51747910
Shitty gaymen headsets. Coil whine isn't something you'll hear through your speakers, it's from the components themselves. If you want anything more than a guess, post your exact hardware.
>>51747945
I only get the noise when playing at above around 110-120fps in games, it gets louder the higher the framerate. I get noise when plugged in charging via usb, but not when unplugged.
>>51747996
Forgot specs:
i7 6700k
Asus z170 pro gaming
evga gtx 980ti sc acx 2.0
CM nepton 240m
EVGA supernova nex 750g
corsair 500r case
EVO 850 1TB
Crucial Ballistix Sport 16gb sport 2x8
Headset is a logitech g930.
>>51747996
>>51748025
And is the noise coming from your graphics card or through the headset?
>>51748041
Sure? I don't fucking know I just use a wallwart to charge it now anyways. What else could it be? Interference from something with my mobo? I tried moving some of the cables around but that didn't do anything but I didn't move much.
>>51748066
Yes through my headset, but only while it is charging via my computers USB and running at high framerates. Sorry didn't read your initial post very well.
>>51748081
Then it's not coil whine. Coil whine is the inductors on your graphics card vibrating and producing an audible whine. If it's coming through the headset, that's just a case of a shitty gaymen headset being a shitty gaymen headset. There's a reason why everyone on /g/ tells people not to buy those.
>>51748109
Its shit but it does what I need it to do. I get the same whine when using different headsets that require USB power and even plugged into aux jacks. Dirty power maybe? All I know is it goes away if runnning wireless.
>>51748173
Its not whine, its static you dumb fuck.
Your computer probably has a shitty dac
>>51748232
So its just interference with the onboard dac? Makes sense
>>51748232
The onboard DAC wouldn't make a difference to a USB headset you dumb fuck. If it's running on USB it has it's own shitty DAC.
>>51748296
Which is why I thought it was an issue with something that interfered with USB powered devices.
If I plug in a non wireless headset that is USB powered and uses the standard green and pink aux jacks I still get the same thing like if I was charging my wireless headset.
>>51746671
I like the DTA-1 more. I have both.
>>51746538
>subwoofer when it doesn't even have woofers
pls no
>>51748381
>needing anything besides bass and treble
It's like you aren't a nigger.
>>51746377
>Not buying the amp at the thrift store too with 100wpc for ten bucks
Step it up. Not like solid state amps have changed much since the 70's.
