The games are basically all demos at this point, but they are a lot of fun for the most part. Videos are incredible. Really excited for Rift.

I was about to get one the other day for my note 4. Amazon had some at $170 and I check back a day or two later and now they're at almost $300.

I do, for now it's the only reason I go to reddit. The games are pretty fun but the only ones that have any real replay value is dreadhalls and smash hit. dreadhalls control is really good, and you feel really immersed and it's very scary. Not much else is as great in comparison. There's this 10$ jetpack game which is pretty fun, falling from the sky gives you quite a rush. Porn is also really nice but it's pretty degenerate.

I work in the industry. Nokia will come out with a new phone that is designed from the beginning to work with VR, and they will announce that phone, and the headset, in 2016. This will be in partnership with Oculus in a similar way Samsung is. Oculus will eventually standardize their mobile platform like Android did and create a specification that meets the requirements for their VR technology. If you want to know more, there are some hints and evidence out there pointing towards this. My predictions are based on conversations I've had with the industry leaders which I can not discuss directly.

Resolution isn't the only important factor for VR. You also need low persistence otherwise you're in for a major headache. Only practical choice to achieve this is with OLED.
Sony really needs to get off their ass and mass produce consumer OLED screens or South Korea is going to kick their ass. Apple is even rumored to switch to OLED soon as well. Sharp will loose 30% of its market in a flash and all of it will go to Samsung and LG.
