Should I switch to Sprint or T-Mobile?
>>
t mobile
>>
Try boost mobile. If you live in a place that has spark lte, you can get up to 50 mbps. They have really cheap plans.

Else get t-mobile. I would stay away from sprint.
>>
>>51726563
I have no idea if there's spark lte here in Chicago, but I was considering Boost. My only gripe is that they don't do BYOD and I rather bring in my own device.
>>
As someone who's had both, T-Mobile, 100%. Sprint has their head up something's ass, and even they don't know what. I'm convinced they're never gonna get their shit together.
>>
>>51726678
Then t-mobile would be a better choice. I've been thinking about switching to t-mobile lately mainly because of the faster 3g that doesn't eat battery as fast as lte.

Why is sprint a meme? I know screenshot says no service but im a NEET in my basement. Otherwise I get perfect service, what's up with it? S6 edge using Material Design and Google Now Launcher for anyone who cares.

Verizon,

I am switching from spring soon.

I bought it in New Orleans and now I am on east coast and it sucks.

I usually have 1 bar where I am
>>
>>51727157
Verizon is the worst. Just get t-mobile.
>>
>>51727112
Yeah. Like I heard Boost is decent, but I'd rather bring my own phone than buy a new one. Though at the same time, Boost has $60 for unlimited data which sounds like a good deal.

>>
>>51727131
Sprint used to be shit and is taking their sweet time recovering from their fuck-ups. These nigers bought nextel and chose to use wimax over lte. These two choices doomed them to not only have constantly slow service but unreliable networks as well. It's only recently they started rolling out spark lte for customers.

Throughout history sprint service has been shit for most people and sprint was also known to scam people in 1-2 year contracts. All this faggotry cause customers to flock over to t-mobile and Verizon.

However at present time their networks are getting better and the the hope is they will make most if not all of their towers transmit spark lte signal.

For now though t-mobile has faster and more reliable networks on average.
>>
T-Mo brah.

I totally don't work there at all.

There's a catch. You get no hotspot unless you pay them $10/2GB.

However T-mobile recently got very expensive and wants $95 for unlimited lte but they do include 14GB of mobile hotspot.

In the end though the "cheaper" service is still t-mobile. But fuck man, I'm not paying $95 for unlimited smartphone lte.

I've changed my mind, I'll stick with boost mobile until t-mobile stops being a jew.
>>

with sprint it was 115/mo for the same thing
>>
>>51727527
$95 is staying for a long, long time.

It just changed a few months ago.

I honestly believe T-Mo is trying to get people to move away from unlimited and this is the start of that.

Basically the company needs to make more money if it's gonna continue the pay off your ETF, phone lease, etc..

They just ran a promo where you got a $200 bill credit for porting in ANY Sprint number. Sprint, boost, one more, idr.
>>
>>51727726
So basically T-mobile is turning into a giant jew?
>>
>>51727157
Verizon user here, please don't do this to yourself.

T-Mobile will fuck you by reducing your Internet speeds to 2G if you use too much bandwidth. At least Sprint doesn't do that. Sprint has gotten much better since the whole Wimax fiasco. IMO they are the last truly unlimited internet provider.

I use Metro PCS. Same coverage as Tmobile but at a lower cost. Only pay $30 a month for unlimited

No data caps. Unlimited 4G LTE data. 500 anytime minutes. Unlimited minutes nights and weekends plus calls to other Sprint numbers. Unlimited SMS/MMS. $49.99. It's SERO meaning that it's the same type of plan Sprint employees and their families can get. Google how to get SERO if you want to get it.

Wtf I thought Verizon was really good? What do I do?

What is the best service for areas above NYC?

I thought Verizon had amazing coverage everywhere, at least that I what most people tell.

I don't care about cost, just tell me which derive will give me best connection on east coast.
>>
>>51728488
Verizon coverage/speeds are great, don't get me wrong, but the locked bootloaders, the NO ROOT, the inability to bring your own phone are not worth it.

>>

AFAIK they don't cap regular plans. Been with Sprint for nearly 10 years. I've had regular plans before, and after SERO, and never had to worry about caps.

I don't own an iPhone but here's something that may help you:

Verizon overall has a better network, but they are super expensive compared to Sprint, and AFAIK don't offer truly unlimited data plans. Sprint is closing the gap with Verizon though because of the investment in tri-band LTE (Spark) and will only get better from this point on.

>>
>>51729375

i was literally going to go to a Sprint store to sign up tomorrow. I need WiFi calling so I can get reception at my job.

Are they activation fees? if so, how do I get them waived?

There's no contract right?

SMS/MMS/Calls will all work without a hitch on my Nexus 5X right?
>>
Sprint is literally trash, I waited for them to get LTE in my area for 3 years, they said it would take 1.
Fuck those cunts.
Went to T-Mobile and it's nice, only downside is the service isn't as wide as sprint.
>>
>>51728558
Sprint rep here.

A lease makes it easier for people to upgrade every 2 years (Every year if you are on the iPhone Forever plan). You pay nothing down, given good payment history and credit. At the end of the lease you will have paid 200 shy of the actual price of the device. You also have the option of paying the 200 and keeping the phone.

Lets do some math.
(assuming good credit and nothing down)

iPhone 6s 16GB monthly is - $22

That lease is for 21 months.

22 x 21 + 60(taxes[rough estimate])= $522

Now say you wanted Easy Pay where you finance the device. You pay between 60-80 dollars upfront for taxes (mind you assuming $0 down)

Financing iPhone 6s 16GB monthly is about $30 dollars

30 x 24 + ~60= 780

With Easy Pay, you keep the device and pay nothing at the end of your 24 month finance.

So $780 - $522 = $258

By leasing, you save yourself about $200 and keeps ewaste down because we then refurbish them and use them as CPO phones for Warranty and insurance claims.
>>
>>51729475
If you switch from Verizon, we can waive your Activation fees. Also, if you are with a credit union, we can as well. Your best option is leasing on the 70 dollar unlimited plan.

If you lease the Galaxy S6, it will be 19.34 a month plus $70 for your plan and 13 for TEP+.

TEP+ is what will save you if the phone gets lost/destroyed because you have to return the device. The most you will pay is $200 and not the $800 the device is worth because Sprint still owns the device.

Your monthly payment for a S6+Unlimited Everything+TEP+ is about $110 monthly.
>>
>>51729476
WiFi calling if free with Sprint. If you want activation fees waived, tell them you bank with a credit union (You will be asked to show a debit card or member card) or tell them that in order to close the sale, you want the activation fees waived. Works 99% of the time.

There is a 2 year contract that will be required to be signed.
>>
>>51729433
SERO is no longer available. There is nothing I can do to get you on the plan. It is only offered to Sprint employees.

>>
>>51729660

Damn. So there's no way to get on Sprint without a contract with Wifi calling then I guess... right? Boost won't offer it.

What's the best option for me to get no-contract Wifi Calling will my carrier?
>>
>>51729766
So ill let you in on a industry secret because I love you /g/. Sprint doesnt do 2 year contracts. they do 2 YEAR LEASING AGREEMENTS.

http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/08/17/sprint-ditching-2-year-contracts-this-year-will-only-sell-leases-and-full-price-phones/

Ask the rep you talk to about it. Its not known to the reps instore AND WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY WILL LIE TO YOU TO GET YOU IN THE DOOR.
>>
>>51729827
Edit: On a 2 year lease, you are only obligated to pay off the device. You should not be in a 2 year agreement.
>>
I heard Sprint is shitty if you try to get the Nexus hooked to it's network.
>>
>>51729827
Sprint has the worst customer service. I've had Sprint for 16 years and I had numerous problems with store reps and customer service. I stopped being a bitch this year and switched to T-Mobile. I'll be saving $1040 a year now.
>>
>>51729929
We offer the Nexus 6 on Sprints website. It gets the same coverage at the iPhone 6 and up because they are a GSM only. Sprint is a native CDMA network but have dropped WiMax for LTE which is a GSM technology. Its still in the early stages of transition, thats why you might have some coverage issues. It is only getting better every day.
>>
>>51729977
I wont lie, 7/10 reps have no idea what they are doing. They just get you out the door. The 1800 number for customer service is terrible on its best day. 90% of the people I deal with everyday is because CS sent them in and told them we have the magic to do anything when we really dont.

Also, T Mobile will only go up on their price and has poor coverage and im not saying this because Sprint cuts my checks. T Mobile really does suck.
>>
>>51730027
Every time I had a problem I was redirected to like 3 or more people. A few were actually helpful but it was a journey to find them. I have around the same coverage from Sprint at home but T-Mobile has way better coverage at my job. By the way I live in NYC and reps told me that there were known problem with the service here, specifically where I live.
>>
>>51729375
Can I still get 2 year contract with subsidized phone with SERO?
>>
>>51730153
Sprint is currently getting rid of a TON of old towers because they still have the iDEN(2-way radio) antennas up. They are currently removing them and placing LTE up in place of that . I hope i am as helpful as them, but I will not lie about reps/customer service being absolutely a waste of air.
>>
>>51730234
Yes, you should be able to.

Also, if you guys have any questions, just make a thread asking for the Sprint guy. Im on everyday after 7pm.
>>
>>51730403
You are helpful anon, thanks. As of right now I don't see myself switching back to sprint since I'm leaving the country for several months. I still have to get my Sprint iPhone 6 unlocked for international use but I have to "pay" a bill that started after I cancelled the service and paid everything up front. The store rep screwed me over once again.
>>
>>51730673
Did you pay full retail for the phone? If so, sprint has no power over it and is required by law to unlock it.
>>
>>51730673
Also

>>
>>51730903

>>
>>51730956
No friend, you own that device. Call customer care and ask for next tier management.
>>
>>51731082
Okay thank you very much anon.
>>
>>51728209
That's deprioritization, not throttling. You get lower speeds on congested towers, I use about 50 gigs a month and that throttling bullshit is nonsense.
>>
>>51731136
I hope they can help you, as per their international policy right on their website. But as I have said (and your experience) customer care can be a great hassle.
>>
>>51728209
Yes, the current plans offer X amount of GB for X a month for LTE speeds, then if it is needed, will be dropped down to 2G speeds, but it is still unlimited.
