Well yeah, the X201 screen isn't near as good as the X1 Carbon's but it has a much nicer keyboard and the edge of the palmrest is nice and round whereas it's a sharp corner on the X1 Carbon that gives me wrist pain after a while.

I use a T420 I bought after letting the /tpg/ cult teach me its virtues. It's a decent laptop for the price. The keyboard is very, very good.
That said, I've been itching to try one of the older models with a 4:3 display, but I can't justify the purchase to myself when I already have this perfectly fine laptop with me.

early 2015 13in 8gb ram macbook air.
previously had a 2010 macbook pro, and before that a 2007 macbook pro.
i love the air. extremely light and fantastic battery. it might not be oversized resolution, but i don't notice pixels since i don't have my face right up to the screen.

My family has kicked me out, I'm shit poor and I have been using a 11.6" Dell Chromebook since june as my main PC.
At first Chrome OS it was painfully limited, but at least I can install Ubuntu 15.04 with crouton and I have learnt to find alternatives of many windows programs. I can survive with this thing.

light, can handle most videos, touch screen. Has a mechanical HDD which is annoying but I'm not putting a SSD in a $250 device

Asus K501LX. i5-5300u, 8gb ram, 1tb hdd, 120gb ssd, nvidia 950m, decent 1080p display, nice sound, and spectacular battery life (8 hours of use in windows and ~4 in Debian without much config effort). Plus it was much cheaper than an XPS
