I've had an AMD cpu for 3 and a half years and never had any problems with it.

They're not junk by any means, just only good for budget builds. They have half the ipc of intel chips.

also, any other suggestions on the power supply? my friend has had it for about 6 months now and he hasn't had any problems with it, but the fact that it has the green led's is kinda kicked, i was going for a red theme inside.

lad...
my coolermaster mouse scroll wheel started squeaking after awhile so had to take it apart and oil it and it occasionally double clicks

yeah, but their higher clock speeds make it close to 2/3 of the speed per core. Most tasks are single core, but I run simulations that use all of them. They are competitive in this environment. Not as good as intel's best, but way better than they cost.
