write efficient server/client side code
modern devs
everything clientside if possible
use 100 javascript libraries
everything is a single page

have 1m worth of deps
use RoR and wonder where all the resources have gone
use experimental nosql databases
everything must be a safe space
etc.
we serve 1k customers using a single 500mb debian server (LAMP) and I keep seeing startups that have about the same amount of customers but have 5 servers, use overly complex deployment systems (looking at you docker etc)
