Nah my comp is right next to the sliding door. Stable overclocking of the 960 is nice. Temps hit 59C while gaming with about 20-30% fan usage

Yeah I do some work in Cinema 4D and Houdini, so gaming performance isn't the main selling point. It usually depends on OpenCL performance, which I've heard AMD is on top of recently. Do you think a 980 Ti price drop is coming? That might be a deciding factor

Nvidia has bugged drivers (or maybe it's just a feature), but you should put your VG248QE at 120Hz otherwise the card doesn't downclock on multi monitor setups. Had the same problem as well. Put it at 120Hz and in the control panel make it so it uses the maximum refresh rate for 3D applications (so you'll play automatically play at 144Hz).

cpu is overclocked to 4.4, cooled with cryorig h7
goes to around 80C during intel burn test so i guess that's not so bad.
gpu is 7790, still works decent so i might keep it till pascal/arctic islands.
planning to change ssd (thinking of 850 evo), psu (current one works decent but i want to get something with modular/semi modular cables and more recent as this one is 8 years old)
maybe monitors, dont know yet.
