So I installed uT 2.2.1 for the first time today after years of using other clients like Halite, deluge, qbt etc. and holy shit, if you told me this is from 5 years ago I wouldn't believe you at all. It has more features, smaller footprint and way better connections (twice as fast DL on the same torrent I was previously using Halite for).

So, why are all the other clients so behind? They've had 5 years to try to catch up.

I use Transmission-daemon on my servers and seedboxes. Don't really know how to feel about the desktop client though. Its like Halite, ok but plain.

I use qBittorrent specifically because the UI's reminiscent of old μTorrent. Happy enough with that.

They want to innovate instead of copy, but they suck at it.

uT ! µTorrent

Utorrent != µTorrent

Finally. Now replace with a proper BitTorrent client.

Same reason most open source shit is so behind, really.
(Disclaimer: I use Firefox, LibreOffice and a bunch of other open source software.)

That said, qBittorrent is good enough and most users shouldn't need anything more.
