I'm a freelance developer that's decided to take on a large project! I want to make a social network - think Facebook, but bigger. I know some CSS and HTML but wondered where to start.
Anyone have any tips of how to build a Facebook killer?

I think the real premise/challenge is knowing the fact that everybody already HAS a facebook. So to implement something that is better than Facebook is only the first step. The prime goal is to actually create a platform that makes it extremely easy for users to transition to YOUR site instead of facebook. Build something that transfers all their posts, messages, and pictures to YOUR site from Facebook. Contact me if you need more help.
