Well hackers as in people who love tinkering love linux because its open and customizable.
Hackers who break into shit need to know linux because most servers out there run linux, plus its better for hacking than using a windows system. Most exploits are written in C and use linux headers and functions and shit therefore can be compiled and runned, even though you can use cygwin on windows, its still a piece of shit. Plus linux is ideal for anonymity since its open and can be customized as non bloated piece of shit. Also you'll look alot cooler using the command line most of the time.
