hey /g/
I am going to be starting uni this spring and am wondering what kind of programs will make things easier to manage organize and be just generally useful. Any suggestions for non tech related must haves are also appreciated

get a bunch of cheap pens that write really smoothly and a decent mechanical pencil.

On that pens issue. I was very satisfied with fountain ink pen. It writes classy, smoothly and fast. Also wolframalpha
>>
oh yeah, and an actual alarm clock. phone alarms just don't cut it.

Unrelated to uni but: evernote

This, Just buy Bic Crystal blacks. They are 10/$1.00 and are probably the best pens on the planet by far. It would be like paying $20 for a new Fury X/980Ti-H

I agree with this. Easily top 5 writing utensils on the planet.

They write just as good if not better than my $75 cross ballpoint (was a gift from my moms boss when I was 15)

I usually just get pic related since I like my pens a bit thicker. Also different colors are nice to change up the monotony sometimes.

These are good

Never used a fountain pen because I'm a southpaw but I'm sure it writes a lot better. Unfortunately they can also make you look like a fedora tipping faggot. Wolfram is a great suggestion.

Get an actual planner and write down due dates for homework, test dates, and dates for extracurriculars.
A flash drive isn't as necessary now that there's free cloud storage everywhere but I would recommend one, especially since they're dirt cheap.
Also, a special storage drive/location for everything school related wouldn't be a bad idea. You may never come back to reference any of it, but it's good to have for archiving purposes. I scan my exams, keep homework assignments, and download all course material into a directory for the course. I'll probably never need it in the future, but I have it in case I do.
If you're doing math/science courses, get a good calculator and spend some time learning how to use it. I use a TI-84 Silver Edition, which has been fine for all of my math, science, and engineering courses. It does everything I don't have to do in MATLAB or Java/C++.

Good luck OP.

They make Bic Crystal's in all different colors. Papermate, IMO, make some of the worst feeling pens.

Also, Crystals come in bold etc
>>
>>51677755
I meant thicker grip. Crystals are just a little too thin to be comfortable for me

Next pen up from that is an Alantis
>>
>>51677786
That looks good, I'll try it next quarter

What are the best mechanical pencils for price?

hell if I know, I just grabbed whatever the store on campus had my freshman year and it has yet to fail me.
>>

I'm the guy reccomending the Bic Cristals and Alantis pens.

These twist-erase pencils in .5mm are pretty great. Only annoyance is when the pencil almost twists apart in your hand. Aside from that, probably GOAT. Pentel makes good $6 mechs. You don't want to lose those though, too good.

Sure it can but if you visit local bars frequently, gym or some sport sometime and unless you are not wearing fedora nobody cares. Uni isnt /g/, 'twink'...

I can't believe I'm not the only person in the universe who loves these pens. The only other person I've seen use them is my dad.
