Could be, but I assume GIMP was used, perhaps it has a similar brush.
I say this, because GIMP had the logo contest from which the Debian logo was chosen.
I would be pretty ironical to take part in a GIMP contest and use PS, unlikely, but possible sure.
But there is more, see pic related.
DD and Debian leader at the time of the first release "1.1 Buzz", Bruce Perens worked also at Pixar, thus the naming convention for the releases.
That swirl in Buzzes chin was the inspiration for the logo, which was designed by Raul M. Silva.

The OS is utter shit, but the logo is the best among all of the linux distros. Also, d00bian is breddy gud.

Gentoo. Seriously, what a fucking ugly logo they have. I use it, and it's the best OS I've ever used, but the logo is shit. Also, 99% of rounded faggy distro logos out there (ubantoo, mint, antergos, fedora, RHEL...) are simply horrid to look upon.

I think Windows could have had a pretty nice logo if it wasn't in perspective. In a minimal type of way. Like just four uniform rectangles.
Also. For me it's a tie between Manjaro and Fedora. Nothing wrong with Ubuntu's either.
While I do like Debian's logo it does have an air of "tribal tattoo" to it, and I think it's a tad thin to work on a logo level.

You got some weird taste. I think Debian logo is awesome. It's simple and still somehow so unique that at least in my mind I can't mix it with something else. It's just a swirl but I would recognize it immediately. If anything, any other swirl would remind me of Debian.

I like the simplicity of the Debian Logo. It reminds me of the Dreamcast logo which makes me very happy. Plus, the logo would look great on any laptop. It's kind of minimal and a bit professional looking which I like a lot.
