It's my first time building a PC since I'll need it for later college work (coding, vidya, game dev). No bullshit, how is this build?

The total cost of it is €1614.69 including shipping. I live in Ireland.

What I was wondering about this is how will it run current games today at 1080p? I chose 2 8GB DDR3 RAM but could I upgrade and get 2 8GB DDR4 and would it work with the rest of the build? Cause this:

>Crucial 288 Pin 16GB (8GB x2) CL16 DDR4 DIMM Memory Module
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00MMLUYQK/?tag=logicaincre05-21

Is only €16 more expensive.

++

I used http://www.logicalincrements.com/ to pick parts, many on here referred it, and I chose from the Exceptional category.

I actually did create 4 Builds from the site here and I uploaded the .txt

https://mega.nz/#!ioRESaYQ!s4GCP_P1TZGi8SECpiYn-jqKFZCdgVyYVcEv-degDNI

But this is the most reasonable build I can get I believe.

Is there anything that you guys recommend about the build, anything to change or replace?
>>
U would get this mobo instead

ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
>>
>>51663648
How come, that's about €100 extra.
>>
The motherboard you chose is a z170 board that mounts the Intel 1155 socket, but your CPU is only compatible with socket 1150
I suggest you get a z97 motherboard or a different CPU
Also, that heatsink is weak you could find a lot better for few bucks more
>>
Your mobo and CPU aren't even compatible you dumb fucking twat.
>>
>>51663681
How about this Heat Sink?

>Noctua NH-U14S - NH-U14S Ultra-Quiet Slim CPU Cooler with NF-A15 Fan http://www.amazon.co.uk/Noctua-NH-U14S-Ultra-Quiet-Cooler-NF-A15/dp/B00C76WV3O?tag=logicaincre05-21

And this motherboard?

Noctua is a good CPU cooler but they are expensive. If you know how to over clock then get it. There are cheaper good ones too like the 212 evo.
980 is very overkill for 1080p.
>>
>>51663727
Dude. You wrote socket 1150 for your CPU then you wrote socket 1151 for your mobo. Didn't that ring any bells?
>>
>>51663738
Don't listen to this guy OP
The 212 evo is a literal meme, you can get better heatsinks for the same price.
The noctua one you got is good, z97 mobo is good aswell
>>
>>51663681
Found a cheaper motherboard, with the right socket for the i7

>Gigabyte Z97X-7 Gaming ATX Intel Motherboard Intel Socket 1150
http://www.amazon.fr/dp/B00K9R1G7A?tag=logicaincre08-21

>>51663738
Thanks for the info, this build is more for the future in mind, to run game at hopefully above 120 fps with decent quality settings.
>>
And upgrading to ddr4 is not that simple. You have to get compatible CPU and mobo for that. Your haswell devil canyon 4790k only does ddr3.
>>
>>51663749
Op this guy is double meming you. 212 evo is best price performance CPU cooler.
>>
>>51663765
Ok, thanks.

Is there much benefit with DDR4, does anything these days exclusively use DDR4?
>>
980 is terrible value, go AMD instead
get a Hyper Evo 2012 instead of your shit mugen
>>
>>51663773
Difference between Haswell and Skylake is negligible, just OC your 4790K
>>
>>51663773
Skylake and broadwell exclusively use ddr4. If I were you, and you have money, go future proof with ddr4.
But if you stick with ddr3, differences are neglible.
>>
If at all possible, get a 980ti... Its a lot more expensive, but the performance is phenomenal.
>>
OP what is your budget? I will draw up a /g/ certified build.
>>
>>51663819
The max is €1600 I'd say.

>>51663925
Damn, thanks, any good recommendations on an SSD and HDD?
>>
>>51663989
SSDs:
Samsung is best performance.
Sandisk is best budget.
Crucial is medium performance but reliable.

HDDs:
does not really matter. they are incredibly cheap. like 50 for 1tb.
