I haven't really cared about it till now so I'm not too knowledgeable about it.

Win10 is best looking windows yet and it has some nice features - say u can type 'wake me up at 6 tommorow' and it will set an alarm. It basically takes care of ALL of your drivers, even for some obscure shit used on laptops. Ms edge is surprisingly good, teamed up with OneNote it's actually really handy since you can draw something over the webpage and then save it for later. Tl;dr - w10 got some nice bits but...

Yes you just download the installer from the ms website and it'll automatically install the os when the files have been downloaded. Takes about 10 mins

It's just that updates like this tend to fuck everything up. I am afraid it'll leave some old drivers or other stuff which may lead to blue screens or other instabilities.
I've seen people recommend to do clean install but I am not sure if it's actually a good advice or just some meme for tech-illiterate users.

Windows 7 using some activator (daz loader I guess?) then upgrade to Windows 10 and you get a "legit" activation. now just do a clean install using official media and it will activate using digital entitlement just fine. is pretty cool.

Have not yet had a chance to convert my win 7 keys. Will download win10 iso and updates and NTlite the shit out of it. Removing Cortana, spy updates, app store, etc. directly from my installation iso and then determine if it is usable for a workstation.

No. The alleged benefits are highly dubious, and there are serious concerns.
The appeal to upgrade for 10 isn't nearly as compelling as XP's or 7's. Its main draw is "Well, at least it's not 8", and 7 also fits that criterion.
I like it. It stays out of my way and I think the Cortana alerts are nice. I like the look of it.
Does anyone know if there's an easy way to access the notification box? I want to add that functionality to some of my console scripts.
If you are on a laptop, do not upgrade. The automatic updates will destroy your battery life, since there always seems to be an update.

It's cool when it werks (Cortana, Microsoft Edge is OK I guess, the UI is different if you like that), but I mean I'm not even a "power user" I can't even open the start menu senpai desu.
I would say either don't upgrade or wait another 4 or 5 months.
