Did you try brown cherries? I'm on my 2nd mechanical keyboard (filco 2 first, now pok3r), and it's literally suffering to code on rubberdome anymore.
There are thousands of different mechanical switches, saying you didn't like one doesn't imply much.
Even buying from the same manufacturer won't say much. For example Gateron reds and blacks are generally liked more than Cherry MX reds and blacks, but Gateron browns are said to be much less pleasant than Cherry MX browns.
Do your research and read switch-reviews if you don't like your current ones.

Also from personal experience and online reviews, I recommend Cherry MX Browns for starters.
I've never seen anyone being dissatisfied with them coming from rubberdome. Only people who already prefer some other kind of mechanical switch (topre, cherry clears/blues/reds generally) complain about them.
They fit the average user the best IMO, all other switches get more complaints from people who don't find them fit for their typing.

HOnestly cant think of any. I started using linux for a few years because of /g/ mostly. I loved it. Then I made a new build when WIndows 10 came out and haven't bene on it since. So, I guess that doesn't count. I learned a lot.
Anyway. I love ssd's and mechanical keyboards are awesome.

I actually find it more difficult to type on mechanical keyboards than I thought I would, because the physical height of the keys takes a lot of getting used to.
It's harder because I tend to use multiple USB rubber dome keyboards at work, and then I come home to the mechanical keyboard and I can't adapt very well.
It's a significant challenge to adapt to in the break in period. I do notice that I can type faster, 10-20 wpm faster with the mechanical keyboard though (there is just a slight accuracy hit).

SSD isn't a meme. SSD is great. At least as boot drive. It's so fast.
Mech Keyboards aren't a meme. But I'll say that switching from rubber dome to browns wasn't immediately compelling. However, after typing on browns I didn't want to go back to rubber domes. Clears/Greens/Buckling Springs feel so good though. They just feel good to type on.
I bought some PBT keycaps (with the grain) and I thought "okay I'm doing this, gonna be a waste") but thick grainy pbt keycaps are not a meme at all. They are a major improvement. Thin ABS keycaps are whack.
Audiophile headphones-- I'm gonna give you this one. Headphones are just "different." I mean, each headphone has its own sound profile. They are like friends. You like them for different reasons. But spending $100s on headphones? You fell for it. "muh headphones" is meme tier. No. I'm not saying stock apple earbuds are good headphones. Getting a pair of Px 100s or Porta Pros is a major improvement. And you can improve on px100s. And you can improve on those. But you don't need to go crazy with the headphones.
