What do you prefer, MPC-HC, the trusted choice of /g/entlemen, or MPV, the next /g/eneration?
Also, why do you prefer one to the other? Anecdotes encouraged actually.
Bomi just werks.
I use mpv because it doesn't ruin picture quality like madvr or mpdn by default with their performance hacks.
It's much faster for the similar settings too.
And I really prefer mpv unofficial gui like baka-mplayer or bomi than mpdn, mpc-hc or potplayer.
You can use vapoursynth with mpv, this is much better than madvr image enhancement.
Unfortunately it's pretty long to configure on windows, still better than avisynth with deprecated ffdshow.
SMPlayer frontend + MPlayer
I don't give enough of a shit to try anything else.

I want to say that mpv on windows is just the best player.
Devs make a lot of efforts to make it the best. Everything runs fucking well on my laptop.
I was afraid because devs said that nnedi3 is slow but it's faster than with madvr, not so much.
Ewa_lanczossharp for both chroma and luma upscaling make picture sharp as hell without much ringing.
It's like foobar2000, hard to try and be comfortable with it but impossible to go back after.
Can MPV show the thumbnail of .webm and/or .mkv file in Windows Explorer? If yes, I am uninstalling shit MPC-HC right now and installing this.

I use http://www.babelsoft.net/products.htm#en now but it gets the cpu usage up to 35% when I open the folder full of webms and/or pictures. See picrelated.
Does icaros has this issue? Also, how fast is it? I know it depends on the machine and OS but generally speaking how is it?

Using mpv, but I'm having problems with it choosing to either stutter or drop frames unlike it used to.
