Have you preordered your 10 TB SSD yet?

40x 256 GB eMMC in RAID-0 configuration.

>In RAID 0

Understanding SSD controllers is overrated, amirite?
>>
>>51649548
Ignorance is bliss.

Each eMMC module has an integrated controller.
The term RAID 0 is therefore correct.
>>
>>51649574
You still don't seem to understand the idea of RAID mate.
>>
>>51649591
>learning disability
This is a RAID-0 controller with 40 eMMC SSDs in one case.
>>
>>51649622
Not quite pal: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAID

Also, chill with the insults, man. No learning disabilities on my end.
>>
>>51649646
>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAID
Yes.
>multiple physical disk drive components
Each eMMC is a physical disk drive.

Point out the flaw.

Not to worry, I have already determined you are a lost cause. This was fun, but extremely enlightening

Ciao!
>>
>>51649509
Wow, 40 eMMC controllers? Can you even fill it up once before it fails?
>>
>Sperging out over shitty details
T-thanks /g/

>oh shit I've made a mistake! Better run away and insult the other person in order to look flawless!
Also, I'm not the same anon that you were discussing with but if not bait you're a fucking idiot.
>>
>>51649509
This is such an obvious idea I don't know why it hadn't been done already.
>>
>>51651349
he's idiot even if it is bait, also
>sage
>>
>>51649725
Nah mate, other anon is right. This drive is exactly what it says it is: 40 separate drives linked together in RAID 0, which is completely possible to do.

Whether you think it is a viable design is a completely separate issue.

The big flaw here is you have 39 more points of failure than you would with a typical design.

In the link:

Stopped reading there. It'll be shit as everything that is related with small chinese manufacturers.

KEK

LITERALLY THIS

COPY ALL UR SHIT TO 10TB SSD CUS YOU OBVIOUSLY NEED YOUR GOAT PORN COLLECTION AT SSD SPEED

IT FAILS IRRECOVERABLY DATA LOST FOREVER
>>
>>51651427
At this point the quality control of western tech has gone down so much, and the quality of Chinese homegrown manufacturing has gone up enough that I consider it a push between the two.

>eMMC
Disgusting
>>
>>51651517
>HDDs never fail
>>
>>51651584
HDDS ARE HIGHLY RECOVERABLE CUS THE DATA IS STILL SITTING THERE ON THE PLATTERS

A STANDALONE SDD IS A MUCH RISKIER PROPOSITION THAN A STANDALONE HDD

Where do you back up 10TB of burgers?
>>
>>51651812
on a 10 TB HDD
HDD for backups
SSD for everyday use
>>
>>51651833
Ok but still, I don't thrust 10 TB eMMC SSD.
>>
>>51651662
IF BY MIRACLE THIS 10TB SSD DOESNT FAIL DURING A COMPLETE 10TB WRITE, IT'LL DEFINITELY FAIL DURING HIGH FREQUENCY BACKUPS OR RAID REBUILD

MOST HDD FAILURES ARE RECOVERABLE WITH SOFTWARE IF THE DRIVE STILL SPINS UP, AND IF ITS REALLY IMPORTANT THE PLATTERS WILL BE ALMOST ALWAYS READABLE AT A CLEANROOM

ITS REALLY FUCKING HARD TO COMPLETELY LOSE HDD DATA, ITS VERY VERY EASY TO COMPLETELY LOSE SSD DATA
