it is hands down the single greatest download manager ever created. it has the most features and its link parsing is top notch. works on a multitude of sites.
just make sure to turn off auto updates there are supposedly some security risks. oh and its made out of java and i think a bit of it is closed source. so that might be why people dont like it.
There are threads where you can remotely pull premium accounts out of JDownloader. The catch is that was version 1. Not sure about v2

I used this extensively to download Wii games back when I softmodded my console. The iso files were split into 50 or so megaupload links and jdownloader would grab em all.
