you have to have an account to download files over 500mb I think, there's guides online on how to register if you don't read chinese. you can download through your browser (sloooow) or use their download manager (faster but it sucks using a proprietary manager). if you use an actual download manager you have to screw around with wap links in order to get an actual dl link from baidu and not just one for their manager.

MiniSD usually muxes english subs in if they're available on the net. hong kong movies from the early 70s onwards in general often have english & chinese subs, i know HALFCD sometimes tag them as "SUBBED", "encnsubbed", "cnensubbed" and other similar stuff, but they generally don't include english subs even if they're available on the net, so you have to find them separately.
some movies, of course, just don't have subs. lots of mainland chinese movies don't. older taiwanese movies generally fare a bit better because they were released in hong kong so they have the english & chinese theatrical subs.

Deluge is good for initial downloading/seeding since it's aggressive.
Transmission is good for long-term seeding since it can handle a lot of torrents while Deluge can't handle as many torrents as Transmission.

Transmission can apparantly handle 3000-5000 but you should stick to around 2000 (Source: alzheimerspenguin).
