A 380x should be a decent upgrade for you and won't cost too much.
And start saving up, skip first gen 14/16nm, expect issues.
The 380x is easily powerful enough for hold you out until second gen, by then hbm should be in midrange GPUs too.
Or keep your 660, overclock it if you haven't already, and just play with reduced settings on new games for the next year or two.

I have a GTX 770, better i7 and 8GB of RAM and I have solid 60FPS in Fallout 4.
Download Fallout 4 shadow fps mod and Optimised Default Textures mod. They made no difference to graphics whatsoever but give FPS gainz

I'm running BioShock infinite maxed all the way stable 75hz (without vsync, the tearing get's real though so I use vsync, it's not like I need nanosecond reflexes for BioShock so it doesn't matter) without any noise, at all.
