So you need an AMD to heat up your home?
>>51625791
i have no complaints aside from the fact that i had to RMA it twice due to rattly fans .
that and having 2 gb for multimonitor setups is not ideal .
should have waited for pascal to be honest family

its never a good time to upgrade
its never the right time to upgrade
something is always coming out
only decent advice
>don't buy when its a month away or less
but pascal is summer 2016 consumer with q1 for quadro / tesla.

i agree with this anon
Looking at getting either a 970 or 390 for a 5760x1080 set up, but I'm only on a 600w PSU. Will it be enough for the 390? I see some reviews that say it has 275 TDP and some that say 350+ and AMD recommends a 750w.
>>51626223
more than enough unless you run a house fire 140watt+ tdp cpu and plan on maxing out both 140watt house fire and gpu at the same time.

>3 gens with 28nm

Yeah, there's never a good time to upgrade but now especially.

When the best time to upgrade?
>>51626275
Well I am overclocking my 4690k to 4.4ghz at 1.2v. I think someone in another thread told me that was about 140w, but I don't plan on OCing my GPU without a 750w+ PSU for sure.
>>51626441
rip
>>51626285
nms dont fucking matter
sandybridge is 32nm and gets the same performance in games as 14nm skylel
>>51626453
>but I don't plan on OCing my GPU without a 750w+ PSU for sure.
You are retarded.
>>51626587
You're saying I have enough room to have an OC'd CPU and GPU with 600w? All the benchmarks I've seen have it looking like I don't have much room to spare.
>>51626576
No it doesn't, the only advantage Sandy had for a while is the larger OC headroom it had. It still has a lower IPC and most games CPU doesn't matter.

Also CPUs are a different story anyway. I wouldn't say wait for Kaby Lake and I never said wait for Skylake either.
>>51626606
M8. mine Gold FSP 600 hauled two 280x, i see literally no reason to have a kilowatt PSU for single GPU even with overclock. It's not 2011 (remember nvidia housefires)
>>51626606
if your 600w PSU isn't garbage than your VERY mildly clocked i5 and even more so GPU should be fine on 600W.
>I've had two r9 290's With LN2 flashed BIOS clocked to 1250mhz @ 1.4v and an AMD FX-9370 @ 5.2ghz on a 1000w.
You wanna talk almost no room? That's the setup you're looking at. I also currently have an i5 4690k @ 4.4ghz @ 1.2v.
>>51626633
I've got a shitty CX600, but it's worked pretty well with my 280. Just carrying as much over as I can from previous builds.
>>51626631
>theoretical gains
shit doesnt make a difference in gaming at all

Maybe you should watch the video. Here, I'll make it easy
