>every good motherboard these days is a "gaming" motherboard
There's a workstation/server section on any site that maters
who are you quoting?
>what is Z97 Guard-Pro
>>51627148
A gaming motherboard.
>>51624841
check out the ASRock x99 WS
>>51627227
>ASSrock
>>51627095
>who are you quoting?
Drake, obviously.
>>51627242
Based on my recent experience, ASRock are now literally every bit as good as Asus.
>>51627095
Faggot. I mean seriously, 4chan has done greentext for years.
>>51627276
>As good as ASUS
Thats a fucking bad thing
>>51627095
It is in response to, not a quote. Stop being an autist.
>>51627320
>>51629730
>being this new
>good motherboard
what the fuck even is that?
its literally a piece of plastic with sockets on it
>motherboard doesn't come with UEFI on a qfn chip
fucking dropped
>>51624841
Is it me or Drake seems like a huge faggot.
>>51629749
>be me, with this mindset
>buy cheep mobo
>power cycles twice on every startup (known issue. Unfixed to this day)
>zero ability to oc
>USB controller has constant issues. Keeps dropping
>mfw never again
Asus WS boards aren't gaming boards and they're great
>>51629749
Features differentiate a motherboard. I really wanted a nice black and white motherboard for my build but it's either an msi krait or asus board that's more expensive. Both of them have shit reviews on newegg so I really don't know what to do. The krait also has less sata port configurations than my old asus m5a99fx pro r2.0 amd board. This saddens me.
>>51629871
What mobo did you buy exactly? I don't mind getting a 50 dollar motherboard for a cheapo work computer build or really low end woek/gaymen build. Usually nothing ever happens.
>>51624841
Now I feel like dancing like a physics teacher or a used car salesman.
Thanks OP.
Because adding "gaming" to a piece of hardware will attract those kinds of people.
Adding "Workstation" to a piece of hardware won't attract those kind of people, They're intelligent enough not to be impressed by shiny trinkets
>>51627320
Yeah, and greentexting has always been in one form or another quoting someone
Not used to make general statements
>>51630078
ok grampa
>>51630110
>gets told
>starts insulting people
>>51630139
who are you quoting ?
>>51627320
virtually since email has existed > is used to quote someone
its not there to change the color of your text
>>51630139
Is that a Ben Franklin quote?
Swear to god finding a good mobo at a good price is damn near impossible. Not to mention shopping for them is quite tricky.
>>51624841
>gigabyte 970A-UD3P
>pricing puts it just above pleb tier biostar/ASScock crippleboards
>no gaming bs buzzwords
I bought this without expecting much since it was the cheapest that supported xfire, raid, 64gb ram, a decent amount of USB 3.0 and various other standard things (and isn't plebstar/asscock etc)
Turns out it can cope with o/c like a champ, and even will support the housefire fx 9xxx series despite not being designed for it. Safe to say its preddy stable and reliable.
Idk how I'd replace it when I upgrade since I don't wanna get jewed just for having "GAMING" slapped all across the box, at the expense of reliability.
Your mobo and PSU are the last things you should be cheap with.
>>51627189
Lol what
>>51630725
Sounds nice, thanks for the tip!
but why oh why do the mobo sites always look cheap as fuck with those 90s style banners?
pic related
>>51630978
because there may not be "gaming buzzwords" as >>51630725 said, but that doesn't mean they'll stop using buzzwords in general.
>>51630598
You idiot
>>51629871
That's why I buy MBP, no motherboard there.
>>51627148
a board with a deprecated chipset
>>51630978
I was a little put off by the ultra durable thing which yeah is a stupid buzzword thing, but I forgave gigabyte after it turned out to be pretty damn solid after all.
The fx 9xxx support might need a bios flash (technically the board is 970A soooo..) but for some reason it has the power delivery needed to run those 220W CPUs. I found out accidentally when googling o/c capability of the mobo.
>>51624841
99% of people who buy motherboards are gamers
>>51632677
Le EPIC bait
motherboard lines are so complicated nowadays. I remember when it was just by an asus pro model and you were set. Now asus has a shit load of models, as well as msi and gigabyte. why do you need so many god damn versions of the same chipset? fuck.
>poorfags winfags linuxfags will defend this
>>51632730
It's called the logic board
>>51632751
>verified applefag
>>51632751
Who are you quoting?
>No one makes green PCB motherboards anymore
>Only brown and black
What a shame.
Get a Microcenter processor+motherboard deal, they sell every one at a loss.
>>51624841
>Gaming motherboards
>No crypto chip at all
Dropped for workstation and server motherboards.
>>51632757
It's called buying a new one at any minor defect
>>51630978
mainly chinks being chinks and getting stuck in the internet 10 years ago
>>51633825
isn't intel txt in the processors these days?
>>51632742
Just buy the most expensive one. That way you know you got the best option.
>>51624841
>"gaming" RAM
>Military grade
>>51624841
gaymenfags are literally ruining the computing industry as a whole and the gayming industry itself is dying, because of this; e.g. early access, DLC, pay2win, etc, etc...
>>51632742
You get to pay for what you want, nothing more or less. Isn't that what people want?
>>51624841
>not posting the gif
It's like you don't even want this to turn into a drake thread
>>51630078
What? No.
It's implying.
>You're not a dumbass
See?
doesn't fucking matter.
all these shitty motherboards
"gaymen" or not use nonfree firmware anyhow.
