I can think of no other reason why a male audience should specifically be attracted to female characters other than sex. You can pull up non sexual images of female 'cute' characters, but I think that this feeling of attraction spawns from sexual attraction. I don't know if this is the correct way to do it, but it works for me: I create one image that's 3286px wide (1920 + 1366) and then use feh --bg-tile instead of --bg-scale and then it spans across both monitors.

Feh is an image viewer and a wallpaper setter. It does both tasks poorly. In the future, be more skeptical before you install software that has achieved meme status among arch users.
Replace feh with nitrogen or hsetroot (wallpapers) and sxiv (image viewing).
