Modern smartphones aren't cell phones. They are pocket computers that are also sometimes used to make phone calls. 99% of what they do involves displaying lots of content, and a bigger screen is better for that purpose.

Phones are increasingly becoming an infantile distraction and less a useful tool. Our memories are going to get worse as we outsource our own ability to recall to websites like Wikipedia. Our concentration spans will shrink and shrink as we continue to need constant tiny doses of social media gratification.
