I'm thinking about just getting the 2015 Macbook instead of a Dell M4500 or something similar. Don't see the point of the air at the moment to be honest when the regular Macbook they have seems to outbeat it.
Dunno, just want something that 'works', has a good display, somewhat small, and good battery life. Doesn't need to be powerful, just good enough to do some light work.
Daily reminder that you can get a Dell XPS 13 for the price of macbook air and have better screen, touch support, WAY better processor with 3 times the clock speed and more ports.

I roll with 2 gig .PSD files on a 1.4ghz Mac Mini with 4 gigs of ram. I put a 128gb SSD in it and it never lags at all.
It depends on what kind of design work you're going to do. For general graphic design and illustration, you're in the good. For more complex 3d files and bigger projects, you might want to get a more powerful Mac.
I find the 13 inch MacBook pro is now thin enough to be used as a compact laptop so the air is kinda redundant for me. I wouldn't be getting one.

be warned, battery life under Windows is really bad, doubly so if you're doing anything
longest I've had it on with Windows was like, 6-7 hours, wifi off, screen dimmed to lowest visible setting, only thing open was notepad++
actual web browsing use on Windows has been like 3-5 hours
with the CPU maxed out, it's like sub-2 hours
really wild battery life variability depending on what you do
under OSX, I get like 9-12 hours battery browsing the internet in Safari
I mostly boot into Windows to actually do work with the machine, but I'll boot to OSX for battery life reasons.
