With all the praise Chromecast receives, does it have some actual uses that aren't "display shitty apps on your TV"?
I don't see a single application for this that a cable couldn't do better.

It ALSO, as an extension of doing exactly what it's advertised to do, allows you to display any OS desktop that chrome supports on your TV without needing a cable at all.

It's worth it alone for Videostream if you don't have a dedicated media center setup, especially if you hate watching shit on a monitor like me.
I like being able to cast netflix or youtube or twitch streams directly from my phone onto the TV, it's a lot nicer than hooking up a cable to my phone

I recently streamed my SNES emulator from my Z3 and enjoyed some Super Metroid on my 40" TV.
