What software will never make the cut?

Imagine if the cancer of making software platform dependent was common amongst Linux developers as it is amongst Windows devs.

ccleaner with winapp2 + trim.bat less bloated then having to install ccenhancer
I'm new to this board but I didn't want to unnecessarily create a new thread:
I'm building a new PC from scratch and sitting on the fence about just continuing with Windows 7 or buying Windows 10. From what I've read online I'm thinking of sticking with 7. What's the /g/ consensus?
My main uses would be 3d modeling, graphic design, and some vidya on the side. I heard that Windows 10 has issues with pirated software... is this true?

personally I like new and exciting so I'd go with 10. Direct12 is a plus. Most the privacy concern stuff is either just in the Tech Previews or can be avoided with a Local account.

The UI is pretty shit.
But at least it has a start menu and you and tweak it to function like Win 7.
Don't be one of those Windows XP guys that's stuck in DirecX9.
It's 2015, I mean come on.

Thanks for the info. I might get Windows 10 but not sure if the pro version is of benefit.
>>51577592
Just pirate it
>>51575158
What's wrong with Chromium? It's just Chrome without the data collection.
>>51577592
Install Windows 7, crack it, upgrade to 10 pro for free
>>51580585
I run this but don't have the option to upgrade to 10, weird shit yo.
>>51580606
Do you have updates on?
>>51580626
Yeah, I had some updates going on recently. I had the small popup for windows 10 in my tray before but since like a month or 2 it disappeared.
Was wanting to do my backups first before doing a fresh install.

For some reasons those mongrels think it still spies.
Also for some reason they think they don't have a unique fingerprint with all the non standard stuff they use baka tbqh.

What I did was check ebay for desktop/laptop postings where people didn't crop out the code. Call the trouble activating number, put in that key and follow the automated steps.
Fixed

Motherfucker.
>>51580748
That's unethical, what's so difficult about simply pirating it?
>>51583029
the das crack wasn't pushing 10. If it's any better I looked for one listed as parts, no hdd, mobo dead.

>ethical
morality doesn't exist
>>51583180
Guess that's better

Good point

I used to work at this tiny computer shop. They mostly did pc recycling. That's how I used to get my keys. For awhile I'd write down the keys on the dead ones then put them on pastebin.
>Someone brings in old PC
>If it was x date or newer I'd test it
>if working HDD gets crushed and replaced with a new one
>old/dead would get stripped and put into different bins
>hard drives in the crusher
