What do you think about Debian?

It's all right, but it's also autistic as fuck about non-free software.

I remember Corel Linux, which was Debian-based. It was awful, but that wasn't Debian's fault.

What happens when Debian runs out of Toy Story characters?

I don't like apt nor dpkg

Been using arch linux in the last 2 years but I still have a soft spot debian, been my distro since 2008

A new Toy Story will surely come out by then.

it's not a bad choice for babby's second loonix as babby's first loonix was likely debian-based anyway.

also this, it feels kind of comfy and familiar.

I am an OS X™ user now. But when I used Linux on my desktop, I used Debian. No frills, extremely stable and predictable. Pretty close to upstream. Metric shitton of packages. Excellent documentation. Non-free repos are there if you need them.

Aside from Debian the only other distro I would consider would be Slackware, for simplicities sake. Pat has some magic formula for managing 20 years of consistency.

It's from delusional people who think it's ok to either let other users be the testers or give them deprecated "stable" software.

And to put injury to offense, they apply their own patches against better knowledge and in spite they know shit about the software they patch. Almost nothing but the 3 biggest softwares work out of the box.

Also, apt-get is a really slow piece of shit and I don't get why aptitude isn't the default, but at least it's better than the red-headed slut alternatives.

Generally, the idea that one linux distribution can provide you with everything required is unsustainable.

I've never tried Debian itself, but I'm not all that impressed with it's derivatives. It does sound like it is quiet different than Ubuntu or Mint, so I don't think it would be fair to offer an opinion on it based on them.
That said I really have no desire to check it out either.

You are a faggot.

I've used Debian since 1997 or -98

I think I quite like it
