Your guide is shit.

This guide was a collaborative effort put together by /g/ itself.

You only have yourself to blame if it is shit.

Literal bloatware

You literally need like 3 things from this list, everything else is useless bloat.
>>
>mumble
>not Discordâ„¢
>>
>>51569662
Can bloat even exist in these days of terabytes of hard drive space?

Define bloat.
>>
>>51569676
>perfectly functional, free, open source program
>not inferior proprietary program with web 3.0 minimul design
>>
>>51569684
Considering Avast, MEGA, Steam are on there, id say the proprietary aspect doesnt matter.

And discords user interface is objectively better than Mumble, even though the new mumble theme is nice, the entire flow of Discord works so much better for its intended purpose
>>
>>51569683
Bloat is useless code necessitated by bad design

Programs that update themselves are bloated. You should have a system-wide update system. It doesn't have to be an app store of package manager/repo. There are other possible solutions.

In general, if you're adding a feature to each program individually, it's bloat. Web browsers playing videos is bloat. They should embed the native video player.

But not having bloat means having good standards and actually following them instead of trying to be speshul

who the fuck uses libreoffice? use google docs and quit bing an autist.
>>
>>51569683

Bloat usually refers to slowdown of cpu speed or overall pc response, not the amount of space it's taking up on the hdd.

you're like the kind of person that buys a shitty car because it looks fast and has cushy seats, and then buys another one two years later because the first one broke down

>>51569743
Truecrypt is fine
Windirstat is useful for finding ways to get more hdd space
These are legally free alternatives, pirating Photoshop can't be on the list
You probably use default MPC-HC or VLC or Windows Media Player
>He uses chrome or chromium
>>
>>51569768

You're the kind of person who misjudges people anon :3
Discord has these points over mumble
- Presence and text only without being connected.
- First class mobile apps. Plumble is okay, but its third party
- effortless security and authentication. Certs are a good idea, but people are too stupid to follow mumbles cert usage and get confused when i register them and they lose their cert and try to log on.
- truly effortless invitations server switching. Heck im on 6 discord "servers" and can navigate to any channel be it text or voice in at max 2 clicks.

If mumble does that some day ill be first to jump back. I do run mumble servers anyway.

So a small group of people decided that they know everything and that they represent everyone. I never seen a thread about this shit. It would need to be kept alive for a week minimum.

>You only have yourself to blame if it is shit.
You made this so I understand your defensive attitude. But this thread is evidence that only the individuals involved are at fault for assuming their opinion is carried by everyone. Plus the fact that discord is shill shit and 90% of that guide is unnecessary bloatware.
