I feel the same way, I bought a LG G2 about a year ago and the fucking digitizer randomly broke causing it to register random phantom touches. Seems to be a common problem when you google it. Just can't trust their build quality after experiencing it.
I bought a zenfone 2 to replace it and overall I'm pleased with it with the exception of the battery life.

I haven't noticed a difference using intel. If asus didn't print intel on the back I don't think anyone could guess that they were using an intel chip.
