Why even bother? Linux doesn't have professional grade audio drivers like Windows has, Windows sounds 10 times better to the trained ear simply because its audio situation isn't a huge mess.

Tried Deadbeef and the audio quality was not as good as Audacious. It was also slower to load and heavier. Loading streaming media took longer. Maybe it was because it was built from the AUR repository or because I used the wrong audio settings.

Deadbeef has a settings you know, try them, you were probably using ALSA instead of Pulseaudio or some wrong speaker setup.
