Are the sony MDRV6 for $50 that great?
I currently have a pair of Panasonic RP-HTF600-S so I am curious if the jump to the sony ones will be that great
I mostly just do casual listening and vidya so just wondering...

I'm annoyed that best buy is only really doing good deals on shitty laptops and MacBook pro/air. I have access to a $600 limit best buy credit card for purchasing a new laptop for spring semester uni with the stipulation that I pay it off with my Spring grant/loan money.

So, it looks like my options are: MacBook gbbair, or hp elitebook 8560w mobile workstation. I'm leaning more to the elitebook since the specs are way better, but I'm kind of put off by the workstation graphics. I won't be doing any cad shit, but probably some light video editing. No gaming because I'm not a man child.

How do workstation graphics, specifically a dedicated firepro 5950 1GB, handle stuff like video editing, hd video playback, etc?

(Other relevant specs: 2.6GHz Core H815, 12GB DDR3 RAM, 500,GB 7200 rpm HDD and a 32GB/500GB SSD/BED hybrid drive, dual booting win 8.1 and slackware Linux if I buy it)
>>
>>51553017
It's not the quietest projector but it's acceptable in Eco mode for quiet scenes which is plenty bright, it might be a bother in Normal mode if you're sensitive to noise in a quiet scene but Normal mode makes zero sense unless you're trying to get an absolute perfect gamma. Oh and btw it will warm up your room.

This uses a GPU anyways, the fuck?

Anyways, I'd go for the Elitebook simply because business laptops are always well built, easy to take apart, easy to upgrade.
I don't have any personal experience with HP's customer service, which is the real reason I would buy a laptop.
Dell's is ace, and IBM's customer service is Snap-On tier, unmatched, which is why I'm between buying new ThinkPads and Precisions when I get around to it.

as long as OP pays it off within a reasonable amount of time who cares.

Also fuck HP.
HP cuts you loose as soon as the warrant is over, fuck em.
Fuck their shitty site and their drivers that don't work on their own hardware.

>>51553124
You can get universal mounts that will mount it low enough to avoid the fan but it also means the source of noise will probably be closer to your head.
>>
>>51553139
Yes. That's it. Well, I likes it last time. If I don't, I'll just use best buys amazing return policy like I do with 80% of the stuff I buy.

Mummy and Daddy told me to look for a laptop with a 500 pound budget in mind, anyone know what a good option would be?
>>
Just pulled the trigger on this, did I do good /g/?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152925

Save me the gaming laptop memes, I can't have a desktop with my line of work.
>>
>>51553153
As an American, I can afford to buy most things I like. I still put them in credit cards. I put everything on the credit card, pay it off at the end of the month and rack up the points.
>>
>>51553160
So your line of work involves playing games while traveling all the time?
>>
>>51553160
>gaming laptop
Manchild.
>>
>>51553146
just stop, you're sounding like some pleb that can't control their spending unless they pay with cash for everything.
>>
>>51553153
ironically over here you can't do those things without buying things on credit.

I don't personally have a credit card but I assume the way it works is that people buy shit and then immediately pay it off.
>>
>>51553160
>can't have a desktop in my line of work
>buys a 1-ton desktop replacement

Ok
>>
>>51553146
>not being a responsible adult

lol
>>
>>51553186
No, I'm just not retarded enough willingly throw my money away through paying interest.
>>
>>51553204
>have no idea how credit card works
>>
>>51553179
>>51553181
>>51553193

Why can't anyone on /g/ be helpful with gaming laptops, every time I see someone post anything about them it's this same shit
>>
>>51553149
I was actually planning to try to mount it above the fan.
I've got a foot of room.
>>
>>51553204
Do you not have any idea how it works? Credit cards punish poor people. If you read the details and don't get retarded cards, you can literally pay 0 interest and get cash back on everything you spend money on.

Credit cards jew retailers, not consumers. By not using a cash back card you are giving away FREE MONEY.
>>
>>51553212
>Why can't anyone on /g/ be helpful with gaming laptops
Because they're fucking shit, weigh a ton, and are for manchildren
>>
>>51553211
I know perfectly well how credit cards work, I have about 5 of them. I'm never dumb enough to leave a balance.
>>
>>51553224
So gaming on a laptop is for manchildren, but gaming on a desktop and shitposting on /g/ isn't?
>>
>>51553240

Now you get it.
>>
>>51553225
>leave a balance
Exactly you fucking kek.

Do you guys know about some cheap website that I could order from them?
I dont live in the USA so it will be need to have to option to send it worldwide.
>>
>>51553240
Gaming on a desktop is also for manchildren, but they at least have the decency to do it in their own homes and not bother others.
>>
>>51553204
so be a responsible adult and pay it off in full every month.

Or are you too stupid to realize a 1-3% 'discount' on all your purchases through various rewards CC's offer.
On top of all the other benefits

but, you're the smart one i suppose that doesn't want to make money, or make use of these benefits

Even the interest isn't that big of a deal, as long as you don't constantly carry a balance and pay it off quickly, paying a few bucks extra is worth it to some to have it today instead of 2-3 months from now.
>>
>>51553263
I get around 5% on most things I buy with my cards and pay it off immediately, the original poster an idiot for taking out a loan on a credit card, and judging by a $600 limit, a very poor idiot.
>>
>>51553284
He didn't say anything about taking out a loan you fucking idiot
>>
>>51553284
cards in canada suck dick,
typically they are 1 to 1.5%
There are a few that offer higher % but those require an annual fee, which means having to spend a lot of money just to break even past the fee with the extra %

Are the MDRV6 and HD598s different enough to justify getting both?

I mean my last pair of headphones was basically $150 on its own, so if they're different enough to justify it I don't see why not. Worst case scenario I could give one away as a christmas present.

Also have there not been any decent laptops around the $200-400 price range yet? Best I've seen is that $330 Asus and it's not even a black friday sale.

They don't drop in price too often, their rough value is roughly $65.

They sound decent, but as they are around-ear. Ear fatigue is real after a few hours of use.

External drives seem a lot cheaper but have less warranty. I'm looking for a internal one but there are barely any deals except the 'seemingly' good deals.

For example I bought 4x 4tb western digital reds 6 months ago for £119.99 each and now the black Friday deals are likes 'OMG LOOK ITS £119 AND BEFORE IT WAS £160' when it fucking wasn't.

There are people that have the HD598 as their end-game, but it's generally considered that end-game for people that don't ever want to drop more than $300 on their audio setup is 1 tier above the HD598. meaning you're getting high A tier headphones. pretty fucking good at 95
