I7-4790k or I7-6700k? How much of a boost performance wise will I see with Skylake in gaming? As it stands, I can get a I7-6700k for 360$ or an I7-4790k for 250$. Will be using a GTX 980 ti if that matters.

I could get that for 300$ too. But the 250 4790k is tempting to say the least.

get an i5 you douche. i7's make no sense if you add a graphics card.

unless you play tera or anything else with retarded developers

I plan to play Star Citizen when it's actually done, but as it stands right now it is confirmed to benefit form hyperthreading.

why don't you wait until star citizen comes out and plan your build around benchmarks? because right now you're potentially just wasting money
Different question, I was thinking of getting a 6600K, but I have a problem: I'm worried about Skylake being too recent to have decent support and to have proper vetting.
As in, if there's a problem, I'm part of the first wave that will discover it.
I was thinking of a build that used 380X and 6600K
