What are the best Windows laptops around at the moment?
Macbook Pro
Panasonic Let's Note
lenovo yoga devices, thinkpad and some toshiba satellite models. depends on your budget though

No but seriously what
>>51529088
I don't know what the fuck that is but it sounds like you're taking the piss
>>51529102
ThinkPads are fucking expensive
Are Yogas actually any good because I don't want or need all that bendy shit
Let's say my budget is ~£800 / $1000, what does that get me?

Dell XPS 13
>>51529139
what do yoy want your PC for? work? gaming?
>>51529139
Modern thinkpads are expensive.
However, older used thinkpads are what he was talking about. 2007 thinkpads have i5 cpus, some even i7 models. Sure they may be old, but they run like a champ. Those laptops go for around 200-350 burgers

Lenovo Thinkpad.
Dell XPS.
Dell Latitude.

>Are Yogas actually any good because I don't want or need all that bendy shit
They are good if you need that bendy stuff.
Since you don't, don't bother becasue then it's just a waste.
>Let's say my budget is ~£800 / $1000, what does that get me?
Asus makes the best value for money laptops at that price point.
Or a second hand Thinkpad.

ASUS N Series
>>51529617
I never understood the N series.
I've seen N series with utter shit screens.
And I've seen an N series with a fantastic screen.
>>51529139
>No but seriously what
he isn't shitting you. boot camp makes dualbooting windows from OSX seamless and Macbooks are best in class devices with superior design, build quality, and battery life.
>>51529139
>No but seriously what
He isn't joking. My Macbook Pro is the the best windows laptop I have ever owned.
>>51529716
Build quality is shit compared to a T series Thinkpad.
And with a T series you can get extra batteries to extend battery life as fast as you like.
>>51529691
I have last years ASUS N Series model, the N550JK.
I would get the ASUS N Series laptops with the IPS 1080p screen, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, and NVIDIA graphics.
>>51529829
Also matte screens allow you to work next to windows and even outdoors, so you don't have to be a basement dweller.
>>51529829
>Lenovoshit
>good build quality
haha no. and if you mean the ibm stuff, it isn't 1995 anymore. ibm thinkpads are long dead. enjoy your bastardized spyware infested chink garbage
>>51529048
Surface Book
>>51529829
>you need an extra battery that weighs as much as a macbook air
>to get battery life on a thinkpad anywhere close to the battery life of a macbook air
mfw
>>51529048
I am satisfied with my asus n550-jk (asus n series).
They're a bitch to boot from removable media but you can get around that when you figured it out (hint: hold power button very long while laptop is on before attempting boot).
>>51529858
Have you ever held a 2015 Thinkpad?
No?
Then your opinion is void.
>>51529892
>Air
Sorry, I thought you meant a real Mac (= the Pro)
Obviously the base battery is way better in a T series.
>>51530126
nope. rMBP also has superior battery life to your chinkcrap
>>51530126
When did Lenovo start paying for shilling?
>>51530176
Yes, that's what I said.
Reading comprehension much?
rMBP (the only Mac worth getting) has more batteries build in but no option to swap batteries so it can't last as long as you want.
>>51530540
Also with swappable batteries you don't have to lug them around when you don't need them.
So it's clearly the superior option.
