Hardly an old phone is it

Old phone would be a Nokia 3310 or something

Wouldn't really call it old, but Nexus 4 here.
I see no performance reasons to upgrade, but it has started rebooting randomly about once or twice a day.

Buy an anker battery and you have a God phone
>>
>>51528565
Was on the G2 until this summer where almost exactly 2 years after I got it, the top 1/3rd of the screen simply stopped detecting touches. It started getting a bit weird, then it kept getting worse and worse over the next few days until it just got to the point where I couldnt use my phone without getting frustrated as fuck and pissed off.

Ended up buying the Note5 two weeks later on launch day.

LOL this shit is just an overclocked snapdragon out of the factory.

it is hot as balls when under heavy load

I've only owned one phone my entire life and that's the iPhone 4 I found on the sidewalk on the first day of 2013. I've been using it ever since and its worked fine but everyone has bigger, shinier phones than me and now I want an upgrade. Unfortunately I know literally nothing about phones so now I'm too scared to buy another in case it's shittier than my iphone and I'm too poor to just get the latest one so i guess I'll be using my 4 until it breaks.

Time of LG2 and Note II was basically the best time to buy a new phone. Next generations only got marginally better when compared to these phones.

My brother of similar color.
I'm in the same boat myself. I underclock the CPU and get 2 days of replacable battery life, and have a 128Gb mSD. This also has delicious water proof USB 3.0, bright 1080p screen for a proper balance of nice definition without wasting performance on placebo, 4.4.4 for stability and proper dark menu themes, and the camera meets my needs of "yep, it takes non-shitty pictures/video". I keep this phone in a case just to ensure that it lasts for as obnoxiously long as I'd like it too.

The only change I still should do is root to delete some samsung/google bloat, but it's already hidden away and I've just been too lazy/comfy to mess with it.

The G2 is a generation newer than the Note2.

Note2 came out sep. 2012
G2 came out Aug. 2013

Though I agree both have aged well.

Sony xperia S here.

Want a new phone, but money keeps getting in the way. I understand why they're expensive, but god the Note 5 and S6Edge are nice.

That said, everything I need to use my phone for, it does brilliantly. Though it's still on gingerbread, so keeping track of data usage is an issue (didn't update because ICS is buggy and jelly bean was too heavy for a S3 chip).

So to answer your question, I do get the upgrade itch, but at the end of the day, I'd rather keep my money and continue to use what I already have
>>

Just werks. Might get a 7 for that screen space though. Kind of conflicted honestly. I want a huge screen but I love how tiny my phone is.

I just bought a G4 because there's a girl that's a manager at a local Sprint shop that wants my dick so bad that she sold it to be off contract at $150 because I switched to Sprint on a Dumbphone since I don't want to fuck with subsidy costs.

Otherwise, I'd still be using my galaxy s3 on at&t, since it runs sexy smooth with 6.0/CM13. If my gsm s3 could work on Sprint I'd probably never have gone into the Sprint shop and asked about off contract phones.

I bought my Note 2 used in November 2013. I used 280 DPI the entire time and I'm now seeing very minor burn-in on the status bar. The bar itself is lighter and there are darker dots where the notification and status icons were. You can only see it at minimum brightness with a grey screen, so I don't mind.

Have a Note 3. Went into Verizon store today to look at potential upgrade. Looked at Note 5, Droid Turbo 2, LG v10, Samsung Edge+ and Nexus. They all seemed really..... bland. I'm still using a Note 2 but I'm starting to feel silly because it's a massive phone with a subpar screen and is generally underpowered compared to most flagships today. Power is debatable but since I never play video games or do things that require heavy GPU usage, I may be a little different from you.

I do wish the screen was 1080, though. 720 is okay, but you can see pixels easily.

Dunno what to buy for a next phone, but I know it has to be:
* more durable
* better or similar battery life
* specs no lower than S3 LTE
* there has to be Cyanogen for it (MIUI in worst case)

Got a Samsung Galaxy Ace 4, fairly new phone but low-mid tier. 1gb ram, Amoled screen, 4.3" perfect for one handed use, 4G/LTE, Kitkat. It's awesome. I tinker with my wife's IPhone 6 just to compare and the only use scenario where I would prefer the iPhone is taking pics, but the camera is still perfectly fine. Phones have matured to the point where there's no need to have flagships other than showing off.

The best feature is that it only cost me $99 unlocked, so when I dropped it on the pavement a month ago I just went and bought myself a new one, exact same model, no big deal.

wife would still have a note 2 but got stolen. bought a note 4 for cheap after they tanked the note 5 with the most garbage ideas ever.

... to everyone dumb enough to cry over lack of lollipop, news flash: it has nothing more than 4.4. it's just new color (more white) and more wasted screen space. get over it.

G2 here.

It just... does everything I need it do. I kinda want a new phone, but it's hard to justify when this one is completely fine.

I have an X1-00 but now my carrier is switching off their 2g network so I need to get a new one.

I've been looking at some older meme phones (pureness, crystal, etc) but I'm not feeling it.

Anyone know any long battery life 3g phones with life comparable to the X1-00? For reference, it lasts about 60-90 days.

Pic related is the sexiest phone, look at this color, Apple dun goofed with their "space gay" color.

Though I wish I'd waited 1 more year for the 5S, the 64-bit support and A7-chip is much more future proof and based.

My next phone will probably be the iPhone 7, the 5 did a good job surviving for 3 years, latest iOS and no lags..

I still use my LG Optimus One that I bought way back 2010.

Htc one m7 I broke by overwriting the bootloader with some HTML. Looked around, literally no phone in the last two years is a strict improvement, bought one off eBay for $190

Note 3. Hardly ever use it for anything other than an alarm clock, quick snapsnit camera and a hotspot.
I don't see what a new phone could possibly offer that my Note 3 can't do well enough.

As far as the note is concerned, they make major advances with the pen and camera every generation. I'd at least get a note 4, honestly.

There's too much that they fucked up with for the note 5, I'm waiting to see what the note 6 has to offer.

I don't use the pen much as it is and I have no use for a new phone. If my Note 3 stopped working I'd probably buy just buy another one.
>>
I dont use my phone for much outside of music and looking shit up so I'm still using this shitty xperia L I got with a TV.

At one point I might get a phone with keys again, or maybe one with a stylus.
Touch screens suck.

My Droid Turbo will easily last longer than another year. It doesn't feel dated a single hour a year later

I don't know what's up with it. I've reflashed literally everything. Still only have 2G.

Have a friend who keeps buying phones all the time. Just bought a Nexus5 of him for less than half of the cost new.

This is me

Ordered the z2, should be quite the step up in terms of speed and battery life. Got it for cheap so no regrets there.

Note 3.
Still the best phone at my place of employment, even 2 years on.

Nobody I know really gives a fuck about phones.

Please for the love of RMS remove that hideous chain

apart from it being round, heavy and therefore slippery, had the LG G2 not shat itself upon meeting concrete i would have been happy with it. except FUCK that lock being on the back.

Does Xperia Z2 count?

Original Note here. Unfortunately it's dying. Intergrated storage disappeared, only a factory reset fixed it. It did a factory reset by itself a few months back, which very annoying. And now when scrolling, doesn't matter what app, the top part of the screen fades to near black and the bottom part displays the content.

Note 4, still running great with 5.1, in fact I even got a note 4 for my father recently.

>>51528470
Had a note 2 but after one year it was a laggy piece of shit with no update coming other than 4.4.4, gave it to my dad but he manhandled it so badly that it broke down costantly, buttons got stuck, even more laggy, etc.
