Hey /g/, what do you think about PowerColor GPUs?

They're the cheapest option by a large margin for the card I want, the R9 390. However I know nothing about the brand; I've only ever seen them mentioned in passing. Are they some chintzy overheating bullshit or a genuinely great deal?
>>
I heard their version of r9 390 is a good one than the other manufacturer

>>
>>51523677
Powercolor looks cheap af but they are with the same tier as Nvidia's Palit

They have good coolers for their 290/x and 390/x cards.

the 390x uses double the power and costs twice the money, it goes a bit deeper than 'muh 2 fps', shill.

you appear to be on the wrong imageboard, the imageboard for pedophiles starts with 8, not 4

I have a Powercolor r9 390 pcs+ OP. Performa great. Aggressive default fan curve, but the fans turns off completely if the card is under 60C. I'm avle to play some games like Dark souls 1 & 2 passively cooled at 1440p.

No coil whine

The cooler is on par with Sapphire Vapor-X.

So far no regrets.

that's not moving the goalposts, it's common sense. you should not be comparing a reference gpu to a factory OCed rebrand.

They're using a reference 290X in the benchmark and it still beats a 980.

then it's a biased review, every other reputable review shows the 970 and 980 btfoing reference 290/290x. same with oced 970/980 vs 390/390x

The XFX 290 cooler isn't too shabby for running at stock, but I really would not overclock on them as vrm1 fries.

this POWERCOLOR hurr durr shit is exactly for subhuman poorfags who can't afford to buy a videocard from some normal vendor.
>>

Nwver owned a powercolor product huh? Look u reviews on their PCS+ model. It goes toe to toe with Sapphires vapor-X and trixxx. Stomps xfx and asus.

Theyre just not as well known. This would be like saying stuff from Zotac or galaxy is bad because theyre smaller companies than evga or asus.

>>51523677
I have a Power color HD 7950. I had to RMA it once, and it took about 2 weeks for them to fix it. It was $175, which was pretty cheap at the time, so I can't really complain too much.

Not pretty, but they work fine. Club3D are the exact same cards, just different branding.
