Is Google Apps worth paying for?
Their cheapest plan is $50 a year, which is not a crazy amount.
But what are the actual advantages for those that don't own a business?
The Google site sucks ass at telling the customer why this is worth paying for.

I actually have it only to use Gmail with custom domains. Other than that, it's the same as @gmail accounts.

I think you can still get a free one-person account by signing up for whatever google calls their AWS-competitor cloud-hosting service.
