And to answer OP's question the monitors are fine, thin bezel is nice for multi monitor setups.

1.There's reasons to buy a 4k monitor other than gaymen
2. A 390 can play older games perfectly fine at 4k, you can always drop the resolution down if it's too demanding.
3. Current 4k monitors are perfectly fine unless you want 120/144Hz/bargain bin monitors. The only other thing I'd like to see is more freesync adoption but it's not really a deal breaker.

I bought a u2414h a couple of months ago. I'm mostly happy, but the brightness/luminosity is somewhat uneven. The middle portion of the screen is a little bit brighter than the surrounding area, but it's only noticeable when viewing solid colors. That's the only complaint I have. There's no backlight bleeding.
