It wasn't their first time and it wasn't their last. The latest hardware killing driver was hilarious because it was pushed out by windows 10 automatic updates, essentially forcing broken drivers that were certified out to customers.

Nvidia seriously needs quality control on their drivers BEFORE they certify them. From what I've understood of the WHQL system, nvidia self-certify the drivers. I would call it a disaster waiting to happen but it's already happened. Repeatedly.

This is disturbing in and of itself.
The fact that some of the drivers are simply extremely problematic and not outright destructive is not a point in their favour. You would do well to steer clear of nvidia drivers on launch day, even the certified ones. This is not possible on windows 10, of course.
