How are Seagate's portable drivers? Are they still shit?
>>
Been using a 2TB model for about a year now, I personally don't have any complaints.
>>

Yes but they won't die as quickly as those 3TB ones.

SEAGATE HAS NO DRIVERS

Bought two

Got an extra 500gb for my office desk because it was on sale for dirt cheap last black friday at Walmart and one 1tb one.

500gb is failing and the 1tb is fine.

Seagate's customer service is nothing but poo in the loos and they said it was my fault, even though it has only been used about six times over a single year and has never been dropped or even left my office.

You can do worse, but you can do better at the same price point.

Seagate told me it was

WD Passport Ultras are like a few bucks more on amazon and they aren't as kill as quickly. Also 3 year warranty.

Don't call customer service.

Just send the drive back and they should send you a new one.

Seagate 2.5" externals are actually viable when on the other hand you have WD soldering USB ports directly to their Passports, which means dead USB = dead drive.

Pic related.

Yep, these Seagate 2TB slims are the best portable externals by far. Inside there's actually a Samsung Spinpoint M9T. You can even take it out if you need a large laptop drive.

WD will last even LONGER
>>
>>51502694
Just wait till you get a 3tb or 5tb drive.
>>
I have 3 3tb seagate externals that I cracked open. I put one in use in my computer and the other 2 I keep unpowered for storage where I access through a docking station. I also have a 2tb internal drive I bought

all are good so far. They operate at around 30-40C at 19-22C ambient
