What's the oldest part you own?
550ti
>>51499295
IBM PC model 5150, whole thing, still works. It has a monochrome monitor, no HDD, 2 floppy 360K drives, and 512 KB RAM.
>>51499295
a working videopac g7000
What is older? A 8400GS or an E7500?
I have a Core 2 Duo P8400 CPU lying around from when I took it out of my old laptop and replaced it with a better chip.
A working voodoo
actually i have 2 commodore 64s but they are really my parents. I purge my tech closet every year or so. I won't be needing to do that now though that i don't use PCs anymore. Apple stuff is much easier to sell for a decent amount when you're finished with it
Probably a 9400GT. It's either that or an Athlon II X4 620 and motherboard from that time.
Pentium 60 or a Powermac G3 upgrade card.
My collection of ISA cards, probably.
Thermaltake swing case
Just some of the shit in this photo.
This fucker has a pentium 4 and god knows what GPU
And sitting right next to it is a tower with a c2q and an 8600gt
>>51499295
I have a platter from an EMC disk pack somewhere in my closet, roughly the size of a vinyl.
>>51499295
a pair of pretty early z80-mcbs with two binders full of documentation and "confidential" preliminary schematics
plus a bunch of other shit, my current pet project is a mac quadra 700 that left the factory around '92 or early '93 going by the date codes
>>51499413
I love how no one gives a shit
a compaq contura 4/33C
still works, some business I worked was going to throw it out almost 3 years ago. screen is quite faded but visible inside and the hard disk still works, it has 3.1 and chip's challenge on it
thinking of making a video destroying it to piss off luddites
>>51499348
Mine has its cables cut.
I have a Philips VG8020 though and it's more interesting.
An iPhone 5. The thing is absolutely ancient, Jesus Christ. We've progressed so much since then. Why bother keeping anything that isn't new? Just wastes space.
AMD ATI Radeon 4670 HD. It's my current GPU... I'm hoping to get a used 7850 2 gb.
>>51500150
c64s are common as fuck, literally babby's first 8-bit, nothing really special to see even in this shithole tbqh
>>51500576
I've got a stack of regular 4/25s, don't really know how I keep finding them
>thinking of making a video destroying it to piss off luddites
that would be a shame more than anything, the 4/33c was the most expensive and probably the rarest of them all, the contura itself is historically notable as one of the earliest PC subnotebooks and a real trendsetter, not to mention that god awful trackpoint
just wreck a pmmx-era shitpad 300 if you're feeling edgy, it will get thinkshit autists into the fray as well and you won't be damaging something of any real rarity or historical significance
Probably my 386
gt220
Intel 80486 - SK100
>>51499295
I don't own any of the shit in my house since I don't keep receipts.
>>51499295
A SiD chip from a Commodore 64
Among my Socket 370,478 and 754 motherboards, this is one of the GPUs I found.
Still works. It's a Gecube Radeon 9550 256MB AGP8X.
I've got a commodore 64 in the loft along with 486 era components.
>>51499295
I have a loose E2180 cpu laying around. It's basically worthless.
Of that same LGA775 architecture, you can buy an E8400 or Q6600 for like $10 nowadays and those chips vastly outperform the E2180.
Just an old Toshiba satellite 2800-100 laptop
>not my pic no light atm.
Intel Celeron 650 MHz
192 mb of ram
GPU AGP 2x - S3 Savage/IX - 8 MB SGRAM
And floppy expansion card and DVD reader
Shit was pretty high end back then.
If only I could find my charger id use it as an old DOS machine or even as a network terminal.
It still works.
A stack of old HDDs from 80s or 90s that were removed from use because various amounts of head contact. One of them has been converted to a clock.
>>51505257
>Shit was pretty high end back then.
Celerons were always shit, even back then.
Commodore 64 with a broken 1541 floppy drive, and a ZX Spectrum
>>51505345
This is a laptop from the year 2000 in comparison with other laptops this bastard did everything without diying outright.
Get your facts straight.
>>51505397
But its still a celeron. "Pretty high end" would have at least a Pentium processor.
>>51503127
I'll be sure to repeat this before the video starts along with a great scene where I just have it open in the bathroom as I'm not in frame screaming "KIDS KIDS KIDS TODAY PHONES PHONES KIDS KIDS et cetera. relationships"
A core 2 quad Q9950 that i still use
>>51505397
Celeron have good life expectancy for price but have never been high end.
Any one of the parts from a Xerox Star 8010
>>51505492
I also have a small collection of Motorola 32 bit microprocessors from the early 80 or maybe even late 70s
old 3DFX Voodoo 4MB card from 1996 in a box somewhere in a closet in my house.
A Gravis ultrasound card from ~1992
>>51499295
In my current rig?
Um. an old USB 2.0 PCI card. 5 ports (4 out 1 inside case)
oldest part I own? Maybe my ATI RAGE PRO 128!
maybe, I don't even know what I have in one of my old parts boxes now.
>>51499295
Deeze nuts
>>51499360
depends on the manufacturing dates
>>51499295
I have some 512mb RAM sticks lying around, those have to be 10 years old. but thats about it.
Model M2 keyboard from my 1990 286 PS/1
My mom's old thinkpad
Nothing antique really. Oldest I have is a still-in-use 300 GB hard disk from 2006.
>>51499295
MMX 333 and a voodoo2
The 9 gig hdd should still works
just a pile of core 2's and xeons
2x xeon e5420
1x e7400
1x e7500
1x e6600
not seen is the 2x q6600 sitting on my parts shelf.
>>51499295
32mb RAM
must be this magnificent graphic card
also have a Pentium 233MMX
A rage 128 pro
A pc running a Xeon x3220 with a HD 5870... My player 2 pc not really that old.
I can't bear to put it in the trash, where it belongs.
A sega genesis but I don't know where it is currently, so a bentium 4.
Define "old"
>>51507612
I liked TechTV up until they played up Soyo as a decent brand and I fell for it.
>>51507707
Well it still works to it's credit. I was thinking of doing a retro build from spare parts I had laying around the office, but I'm too lazy.
>>51507707
It wasn't so much Soyo as it was that they used the shittiest VIA chipsets possible to cut costs.
VIA chipsets always sucked/had bugs/issues
Main board of an IBM XT clone, still in it's packaging
>>51507612
>Socket 7
>next to Pentium II slot
jesus christ
>>51507793
It's nice to have options.

Intel Pentium 200 MMX
Two HDDs, one is WD 500gb 5400rpm that is probably close to 10 years now, seen a lot of torrents, really raises questions how it's still running, but doesn't seem like it will die any time soon either
Another one is also WD, 256 gb and 7200rpm, I took it out from some proprietary workmachine but it was old as fuck, so I can only guess it's about 10 year old too, only powered on for 150 days, according to Speccyâ„¢, but going up in flames at 58C, so I guess all muh gaymes will die pretty soon
compaq armada
plays doom like a champ
>>51505425
oh you're that guy
you sound like you should get some fresh air some time, relax a little, you always get so worked up in these threads for some reason like they're personally attacking you for enjoying something old
>>51508073
>>51508101
>3dlabs chips
neat
those were absolute shit for most games but the 2D was great

>>51499295
As of today, my Amd 7670M went legacy support which means no more drivers. I'm kinda sad.
A few missing but I will scavenge them from storage at some point...
>>51499295
I've got one of those old Dell Optiplex 330's in my closet, used to be my stepdad's office computer before it was my first personal one. Ran like shit. Loved that thing
a horse turd xD

Oldest part I own or oldest part still in use ?
The oldest thing I own is a Dell Latitude CPi and the parts that go with it, still fully functional.
Oldest part still in use is pic related.
wood screws
muh mech keyboard
>>51499295
I have a Toshiba Portege from the 90's (Pentium, 16mb ram, 500mb HDD) I ran Win98 and played Starcraft. It was fun.
>>51512662
>wood screws
Would screw
if I could screw
but I can't screw
so I don't.
I don't think anyone can top this
Off the top of my head, a Intel Pentium 2 CPU.
If vidya counts as well, a Magnavox Odyssey, the first video game console ever released
>>51512872
>PC
never mind, disregard the Odyssey part
>>51499295
Pentium E2180 probably
>>51512858
a friend of mine is using uv-erasable flashrom chips to build a custom ttl-logic cpu
he has a pdp-11/23 also, thing is old as shit and has so little harddrive space that he had to strip so much from an early bsd release to be able to compile it on the machine
Oldest working computer is pic related, a GRiDCase 1520, came out in 1986.
Fun facts:
These laptops were used by the military and on the space shuttle (I actually have a copy of the flight software around here somewhere)
The model previous to this one was the sentry gun terminal computer in Aliens
The mode l previous to that one was the GRiD Compass, which was the first laptop ever
I also have a couple 74181 ALUs sitting around in my parts bench that are probably pulls from 70's minicomputers
>>51513148
That's pretty sick.
>>51513041
Sounds wicked cool. I'll give you another pic that has something even older than that
>>51513180
Yeah it also weighs about 15 pounds, the case is solid metal
When I had the desk space I had it running a terminal emulator and hooked up to my bsd box
Doom II Ver 1.7, Pentium 3 850mhz, powermac g5, and a bigfoot HDD somewhere
>>51512662
so a gtx 580?
>>51512858
I've got some older shit myself, but that wafer is still pretty sweet.
>>51513148
I've wanted a GRiD forever, fascinating and pretty innovative systems. They also just look pretty cool.
>>51509406
If it makes you feel any better, this one is actually fine since it is just about old tech, and not trying to use it to appear better than someone else. I... enjoyed it.
>gasp
I will be closely monitoring the thread however and am standing by to shitpost at the first mention of the word "kid".
