are there any new graphics cards/ cpus ect coming out in the next say, 6 months that are worth waiting out for?
thinking about getting;

but just don't want to spend that much $$ then have something come out which shits all over it?
Both AMD and Nvidia's new lines coming some time next year will take a HUGE shit on the current lines due to the double die shrink.
Zen is about a full year away and won't do anything current Intel CPUs cant.

mainly looking at the Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M with 8GB GDDR5 and Intel Core i7-6700HQ Processor (6M Cache up to 3.50 GHz) at this point, but yeah, are they going to be superceded in the 6 months? i want to upgrade now... will the new stuff be superduper expensive? within my $2800 aussie dollarydoo limit for laptops?

pascal mobile gpus should be way smaller than previous ones. that should make the physical and thermal design of the laptop easier and should therefore result in better laptops. but i'm speculating. i just think it would be worth to wait.

only 2016 is sure so far. only rumors otherwise. but it would surprise me if it would take longer than 6 months.

I'm almost certain that with Pascal we'll be seeing same GPU's in laptops and desktops.
They're already experimenting with the idea by putting GTX 980 and an SLI configuration inside laptops, they came out a month or two ago.
If Pascal is efficient enough, it's pretty much goodbye mobile GPUs.
