So these steam machines are currently onsale for pretty cheap. Does /g/ think that these machines are fairly priced for what you get in them? I personally think that the price they are charging for them is going to attract more gamers to the steam platform.

Honestly...a good deal.

I'd never really recommend prebuilts but these prices are actually really good.

My current build is basically the $539 model, except I have a marginally better GPU. I payed almost twice as much.

seems about right

They are using the cheapest parts they can find for these builds, so you are getting a low end PSU, cheap plastic case, cheap motherboard and a cheap plastic keyboard

People who build on a budget typically buy these things as well.

I'm not suggesting it is a bad purchase for those on a budget, but for those who are spending $1279 they can probably build a machine with similar specs and higher quality parts.

Actually I just checked and in my country the Syber's deal (not including the fee's and taxes, do they even offer a shipment to europe?) is beating any deal I checked with the same parts. For the money I could spend on the whole Syber's X Machine (the GTX980 one) I'd be able to get only the CPU and GPU. Interesting option.

Wouldn't recommend the higher end ones but that's pretty respectable for $300

Exactly. Linux has about only 100 games on it (on steam), a lot of them ports.

cheap fucks need to pay actual advertisers for actual advertising.

shitposting on /g isn't going to get you anywehre besides installing gentoo

To be fair most PC games in general are ports (from consoles)

Huh, these actually aren't bad at all for prebuilts.

If the linux nvidia drivers ever get any love this will definitely be a viable option.
