Is it worth taking a year long community college cert course to prep for a CCNA? Will this prepare me for a job or am I just wasting my time and money?

you are just wasting time and money
ccna is one of the most basic essential certs for network admins and pretty much everyone has it.

It's been a while since I last used C, but aren't arrays and pointers the same thing in C?
The last line could be just
ip = z
Right?

>but aren't arrays and pointers the same thing in C?
no they aren't.
theres a whole fucking chapter about why pointers and arrays aren't the same thing in "deep c secrets"
>>
>>51493711
Arrays work very much like pointers to their first elements, and, actually, an array can always be implicitly converted to the pointer of the proper type.
>>
>>51493731
you are talking about the pointer to the head of an array. not an array
>>
>>51493780
That's why I said ip = z, not
ip = z[0]
>>
>>51493803
ip = &z[0]
>>
>>51493854
Which can be replaced it
ip = z
>>
oh, that >>51493854 was already in the OP, sorry.
yeah you can say ip = z, because z points to the first element of the array
>>
>>51493336
what fucking course is that? a year is way long
>>
I read CFNM
>>
>>51493878
>>51493883
And at the same time you can also say "ip = z + 2" to point to the third element of the array.
>>
>>51494120
try saying z = z+2
>>
>>51494157
Illegal
>>
>>51494209
yeah, thats the point.
arrays and pointers aren't the same.
>>
>>51493336
No, it's a huge waste of money.
If you're taking CCNA, there's lots of websites that help with chapter answers, typically they're pretty much identical to the actual chapter tests. Everyone I know does this and we all passed fine.

All you really need to worry about is doing the practical/case study assignment, which isn't that difficult if you learn to use a program called Packet Tracer and follow the activities.
If you're lucky, the lecturer will show you what activities you need to do for passing the skills and case study.

I just finished my CCNA 3 and here's my 'journal' for commands if anyone wants them

It's a night school course.

How long ought one take to prep for a CCNA?
