Why does every one and their mother still film video vertically? It makes me rage that people are still fucking doing this retarded shit. They don't realize how horrible it will look for the people that have to view it. People are so dump, phones should have never been designed like this. They should auto disable when you try to film vertically.

Just tilt the camera 45 degrees and you're good to go.
Most people can't even take pictures correctly. Dead serious no fucking joke I know people stupid enough to take a photo of something and have the object cut off the edge of the picture totally off center and shit (even when you can see the picture you're about to take). I make my pictures perfect just like my videos. Not sure if I'm a genius or they're retarded because it doesn't seem that complicated to me at all.
why there isn't feature to record video at 16:9 even when holding it vertically?

Probably require too much processing power than phones can give since I think it would require video to be processed in order to turn the video from whatever source is to 16:9. Guessing though.

You would have to physically rotate the lens and image sensor, something that would be if not impossible, at least extremely difficult and expensive to do in a device as packed as a smartphone.

it would take much less processing power than image stabilization

Because they don't really give a shit about you sitting on your fat ass using your computer.
When people take video vertically they only care about being able to watch it again on their phone and sending it to other people on their phones.
Most technologically illiterate people don't use their computers for much, they prefer using their phones for everything, including watching videos.
You are simply not their target audience.

then why do they upload them to YouTube?

YouTube works on phones

This. You're a poor deluded fool if you think YouTube isn't mostly accessed through phones.
