Didn't see a keyboard thread to ask this question in, so i'm starting this one.
What do you guys think about the Thermaltake Poseidon?
I'm about to order it right now with the kaihl blues for $62.
>>
Cheap shit for people without money.
>>
>>51464506
But, is it good cheap shit?
>>
>>51464520
It won't combust and burn your house down, if that's what you're asking.
>>
>>51464530
I'm already rolling the dice with my amd cpu.
What about the Nixeus Moda? Would that be any better?
>>
>>51464547
Well, at least I've heard of Thermaltake.

I think the Moda is a Kailh brown while the Poseidon is a Kailh blue, so which switch do you prefer?
>>
>>51464584
the moda comes with blue switches. I rather prefer the blues.
>>
>>51464584
Also, i like both of the keyboards and would rather have the Tt just for the fact that its black and the moda is gold.
It looks like the Tt has a few double key press issues. It has a 5 year warranty, but the reviews say its hard to work with support.
Not a lot of complaints for the Moda, but theres a slim amount of reviews.
>>
>>51464598
Oh, this thing?

http://www.amazon.com/Nixeus-MK-BL15-Compact-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B00Z8E535U/

Looks like a different branding for the Lolita. Should be acceptable for a cheap board.

>>51464631
Moda looks like chink shit, so you're fucked on warranty. You'd have to deal with the reseller.
>>
>>51464650
Yeah, it has a 3 year limited warranty. But, like i said there weren't really any complaints to be found.
Just wish I could find maybe a LinusDickLips review on it.
>>
Bump.
Does anyone have any other suggestions? I'm looking to pull the trigger on this within the next hour.
>>
>>51464691
Man, it's a cheap keyboard, dude. You're mostly interested in the switches.
>>
>>51464721
Sorry, I just don't have much better to do with my time.
>>
>>51464489
>kailh
>blues

It's like you want broken or DOA switches

If you want cheap chink knockoff it's gateron or go home
>>
I have a Poseidon Z, its pretty nice. The only problem with it is that the space bar will register itself twice per press sometimes. It works good for vidya.
>>
>>51464489
i have one

brown switches

i like it,
/g/ will tell you it's shit because it's not some 100+ keyboard

but it's a good keyboard IMO
>>
>>51464489

There is always an /mkg/ thread.

>>>51464748
>>
>>51464489

Kaihl switches are lower quality, but still pretty tough.
>>
>>51464489

Wait for the hot swappable chinese board coming to massdrop soon.
>>
>>51465797
dat 5 year warranty though
>>
>>51465867

Still probably easier to switc out keys yourself.

Oh and enjoy sending it in every 3 months for failed LEDs.

I recently bought a Lioncast LK30 (probably unknown for the most - German manufacturer) .
It's one with brown switches.

Now, my gripe with it is, that if you release the key, there is this high pitched sound. It's the spring going back I believe. It sounds like hitting an aluminium can or something. It gets quite audible if you hit the space key and let it go really fast.
Is this normal with mechanical keyboards (this is my first..)? Or bad build quality with this one?
Because other than that I really adore the keyboard.

Maybe I am too sensible to these type of sounds.

Had a blue Poseidon Z I bought retail for ~$90 for a year or so. Absolutely love it. Only problem is that the "c" key doesn't click correctly, but it still actuates fine so I never bothered getting it replaced. No regrets.

>>
>>51466007
It's because you're using mushy brown switches
>>
>>51466101
Could you elaborate?

Not realm. I haven't seen a single board with LED backlighting go a year without losing at least one LED.

It makes sense to learn how to solder, it isn't hard.
>>
>>51464489
STOP, don't buy that shit, heres a cherry brown (also comes in blue) Azio MK1, much much better

They are all over the web though.

The single led out pics are uncountable.

I just realized that this tinny/brassy sound is audible if you snip against the case, too. So the build quality is probably just ass or there is something wrong with the one I got. Too bad, I really liked the keyboard..

I'm waiting for mine to come in the mail. I really do like the brand. I had the poseidon z blue switch for a while and that thing is a tank. Never had a problem with the keyboard. Now they came out with the brown switches, well I gotta get that shit lol.

I used to have this keyboard, really liked it. However, I want one that has lights. Anyone know of something that is close to this but with lights?
