What does /g/ think about Intel Goldmont, Silvermont(Tock)/Airmont(Tick) successor, the Tock in Atom core development?

I'm really excited for new Atoms desu
I want to see a 10w Atom desktop SKU, that shit would be great.
The 14nm cherry trail atom chips were already breddy good. If these have a higher IPC they could compete with chips like the exynos 7420.
Can it beat A9X?
>>51451507
All atom chips beat the A9X. No matter how much you overclock the A9X, it will never be able to run OS X or any x86 programs.
>>51451530
Like Atom can never run iOS and ARM programs?

I have a Dell Venue 8 Pro, Baytrail-T actually performs really well. I was really surprised that thing could actually run WoW at native rez almost playably. Good performance in browsers too. In comparison the old netbooks I used to own were slower than dogshit

They suck balls though. Even on a high end smartphone emulating xp is painfully slow. You'd need a 5GHz A9X to emulate OS X properly.

Atom sucks at emulation as hard, try to run Dolphin on it. If only there was a proper ARM desktop with A9X performance to play with to see what can it do.

Depends which atom. The x5 and x7 cherry trail atoms are pretty cash.

>Depends which atom.
Which begs my original question before your shitposting.
>>51451507
How will the new Atoms compare to ARM state of art.
